Is a 2004 Low Mileage Pontiac GTO Collectible?

We all know that in the world of collector cars, low miles actually matters. Even though that means the car isn’t being used properly, and that is frankly a travesty with the level of awesomeness of some of these cars.

However, the buying collector public wants those low mileage cars. With that said, I’m not too sure that this next car will become a collectible even though it’s super low mileage for what it is.

Here we have a first year new Pontiac GTO. Of course, this represents the downfall of Pontiac as a company, but it also is one of the best RWD cars you could have bought at the time.

The 5.7L naturally aspirated V8 was a great motor, and the chassis and suspension work done by Holden was fantastic.

This particular red GTO is perhaps the lowest mileage GTO from this era ever to be offered. At 4,300 miles since it was new back in 2004, the seller wants $19,900 for it.

While it’s a good car, again, we’re not sure that this will become a collectible, especially since it’s an automatic. Normal GTOs from this era are all trading significantly lower at around half of this asking price. But what do you guys all think? Is it worth the 20k the seller is asking?
