2016 Cadillac CTS-V Roars with 640 Horsepower
We’re all huge fans of the absolutely bonkers Cadillac CTS-V. The car’s ability to go from comfortable luxury cruiser, to absolute hellion in a matter of seconds has been an absolute riot.
Equally as ridiculous is the amount of horsepower that aftermarket tuners have been able to extract from the brilliant LS engine.
Now however, it’s time to say goodbye to the old CTS-V. It’s had its time in the sun, but it’s about time for the next generation to step up. And step up it has.
Cadillac finally dropped the curtain on its newest V series, and it’s absolutely absurd. 640 horsepower, and 630 lb-ft of torque coming from the Corvette Z06’s supercharged LT4 engine.
Those figures trump both the BMW M5 and Mercedes E63 AMG S. Both of which once reigned supreme as the fastest four doors money could buy. Now however, the Americans are back, and they are definitely punching above their weight class.
The new CTS-V is part of the new Cadillac, one that wants to once again compete on a global scale. This and the new ATS-V are steps in the right direction for the brand. I just can’t wait to see what Hennessey does with the new car. Hellcat Charger, you’ve been put on notice.
