2017 Chevy Camaro SS 1LE: Pretty Pictures and a Hot Lap

Our irreverent friends over at Car & Driver wrapped up their Lightning Lap test at Virginia International Raceway last month, where the surprise delights of the event were the 1LE package equipped Camaros. Both the V6 and SS were seriously fast automobiles and handily dispatched of much more powerful and much more expensive hardware.

However, C&D is back, this time with their typical instrumented testing, where we can really learn the nitty-gritty of how the Camaro stacks up in terms of performance numbers (which are mega), and how the Camaro SS 1LE is on the street and to live with every day. We all love hitting the track, but realistically, most of our miles spent in a car will be on the road, and not the road course. Until Chevrolet sends a sixth-gen Camaro to LS1Tech for review, we will defer to Car and Driver, whose impressions can be found here, along with some seriously beautiful photography.
