Feel Free to Track Your Camaro, Chevy’s Warranty Has Your Back

The new generation Chevrolet Camaro is better than its previous model in every way. It’s lighter, it’s stiffer, and it’s more powerful. The improvements give its owners even more reason to drive the car hard and offer a little extra motivation to take it to a place where you can properly thrash around: a track.

There’s one main hold-up with track driving, however, and that’s the fact that it’s much, much harsher on just about every performance part of the car. And the last thing people want to happen to their brand new car is have something break. Chevrolet is here to ease that stress by assuring owners their cars are covered for parts failures if it happens on the track.

The warranty already includes the Corvette, and this announcements makes it known the Camaro SS, the 1LE, the ZL1, and the eventual Z/28 will be covered.

“If you’re not modifying your car and you take your production car to a track day and you have an issue with one of your parts, it’s covered under warranty,”Camaro Chief Engineer Al Oppenheiser told Motor Authority. “That’s pride of craftsmanship that we know it will stand up to track use.”

Cheers to that.
