Jay Leno Examines the Z/28 in his Garage

Oh to be Jay Leno. This guy really has it all figured out. His car collection is a point of envy for basically every car guy out there, so naturally, GM doesn’t even bother selling him cars; they just bring them to his door step.

This time the Z/28 has found it’s way into Leno’s shack. The car has actually been flying under my radar since it’s surprise announcement at New York last year. Chevy kind of announced it and left to settle at the bottom of their news cycle. It’s my fault for forgetting though, because the Z/28 should be the most “track focused” Camaro you can buy. It’s faster around a road course than the ZL1 with less power. That’s definitely the intention anyway. We’ll have to see if it actually fits that bill later in the year when it gets to car reviewers.

Jay breaks down what makes this version so special compared to the SS and the ZL1. If  you’re impatient, you need to know that it’ll have at least 500 horsepower, carbon ceramic brakes, dry sump oil system (super sticky tires are a go guys), a pared down interior, and a bunch of carbon fiber aero bits. The most encouraging thing? 19″ wheels. In a world where performance has somehow become associated with massive rim sizes, this should warrant a little bit of faith in what GM is doing with this.

Watch the Z/28 stretch it’s legs in the video below.
