RIDE ON! A 1965 Buick Skylark True Survivor
Speedtigger is the kind of guy that makes you remember just why you love cars so very much. He has mixed one’s love of classics with the joy of modifications and an oh-so-fast quarter mile time (10.26 seconds at 131 miles per hour, to be exact).
However, he does this all while keeping the car show car perfect and true to its original, and glorious, look. Speedtigger is the proud owner of a 1965 Buick Skylark nicknamed “Charlotte.”
The roaring piece of history is equipped with a massive 6.0L LQ-9 Shortblock that has powered this black beauty straight into the 10 Second Club.
Even without knowing this car’s quarter mile time and the engine its outfitted with, one can certainly enjoy the vehicle for its exterior beauty.
With flawless paint and no visible rust spots whatsoever (even in Florida!), it should come to no surprise that this American hot rod lived its entire early life in the scorching deserts of Las Vegas.
According to speedtigger, this car has never seen body damage in its entire life and is a “true survivor.” I think we’d have to agree!
Despite the authentic and dazzling original look of the interior, he has actually done several upgrades to make this car leaner and meaner, even to the driver himself.
He has added bucket seats for one, which appear to be in clean black vinyl. In addition to that, he has also upgraded the console and the dash gauges, both of which look quite nice.
But of course, for all the gearheads out there it comes down to what’s under the hood as well! Well raise your hands and clap in praise, because even under that magnificently-painted hood is simply more magnificence!
Other than the LQ-9 Shotblock, there are also CNC ported LS6 heads, a 200-4R automatic transmission, and more! The car also has intense suspension work — including heavy sway arms, boxed control arms, and more. Mechanically this car is a glorious and elaborate wonder.
