Does a V8 Belong in Everything? Maybe Not.

We here at LS1tech think that either a LS or LT V8 should go in just about anything and everything. From Prius, to weird old Subarus, to the odd Acura Integra. Our motto is V8s for all!

But is there anything, so heinous that a V8 shouldn’t go into? Or is V8 always the answer, right after Miata? The following cars should have never gotten a V8, no matter how much horsepower they have. Whether because the car is just too terrible event to correct with a V8, or the application made the car worse, here they are.

A classic Porsche 911: Why because it would ruin the entire handling of the car. V8 swaps are fine in more current Porsches, but this one would make this classic 911 undriveable. So much rear weight!

A 2003 Pontiac Aztek: This one was actually thought up by the guy who designed the Aztek to show the world that it could be a cool car. No, no it can’t.

Chevette Swap. My dad had one of these. He affectionately called it the Shitvette. You shall not pass…40 mph!

Insight V8? Hybrid green hippy car with massive V8, sometimes sure, here….no.

A great way to make cheap power is to drop a V8 into a car. However, when a car already has a twin turbo twin cam 6, leave it alone. Supra swap.

Tesla Model S. Bob Lutz wants to drop a Corvette V8 into it. Too bad it’s already faster than a Corvette. I’m mixed on this one, because with that body and a LS under the under, that car would be just as cool as it is without the engine.

Audis are known for their superior all weather handling and pretty brilliant turbo engines. Taking out both just in favor of a V8 probably isn’t a good idea if you live anywhere that it snows.

Mini LS2: This could have been super cool, but between the fender flares, the mismatched tires, and the fact that you pretty much ruined a true classic. Nope, not having it!

Do you agree or disagree? Let’s hear it in the forum.>>
