Default 10s in my future?

i have a 99 ws6 with cam/boltons/150shot

the car made 415rwhp/418rwtq on motor and my spray tune should be in the next coming week so we'll see what she makes on the 150 shot. (hopefully over 550rwhp/600rwtq but well see)

i would be launching on slicks and skinnies with a dana60 rear (4.10s/detroit locker) and front sway bar removed.

suspension mods:

Kenny Brown Double Diamond Subframe Connectors
BMR Strut Tower Brace
UMI Adjustable Pan Hard Bar
Eibach LT1 Pro-Kit Lowering Springs
Koni Sport Adjustable Shocks (Koni Yellows - 4/3 Package)
BMR Poly/Poly Adjustable Lower Control Arms (Rear)

first off, im curious if i can expect to pull the front wheels if i can get the launch rpm correct?

second, should i expect to at least make it into the 10s?

thanks guys!

Mike

with the cam alone launching you might get a little bit of air but with the 150 added to it and depending on how your suspension is setup you will be able to lift them and deff make it into the 10's. You should be well into the 10's to

What size tire. 26" tire probably isn't gonna make the team on the kit in the 1/4

The car is a 6 speed and I'll be launching on the spray. Tire size is to be determined, probably 28"

No reason a well-driven 6-speed Fbody with 4.10s, slicks and skinnies, and around 550/600 to the wheels can't go high 10's anyways at full weight or close to it (DA pending, of course - it might not do it up in Denver, for example). I didn't notice you mention the weight (with driver).

Then again, you've gotta drive it to a 10-second pass. With the variables above, it can certainly do it, but it's not gonna be a given with mediocre driving and weather. If you end up with 520-530ish and your driving/launch isn't that great, or you're running in a higher DA, you might be stuck in the low/mid 11's until you get some practice in.

For reference, I went 11.4 @ 121 all day long at a great track in great weather in my full weight 02 Z28 with only 408/380 to the wheels. But at a crappier track in hot/humid weather, it only went 11.7 @ 117. I think I could have pulled off an 11.6 @ 118 at the slower track if I had a little more seat time in that weather. An extra 130-140 rwhp and 200 rwtq should have easily put me in the high 10's traction pending at either track.

I launched that car pretty damn hard, though, but I was also running stock 17" SS wheels up front and 16" bias plies in the back. Real slicks/skinnies would have helped even more.

its going to depend on how well your suspension is setup and the lightweight flywheel is gonna make the launch tricky your gonna have to ride the clutch a little
