Default 10 Second 1/4 Possible?

Hello I have a 1996 camaro I am currently putting together and would like to know what 1/4 mile times to expect. My goal was to build a 10 second street car but I am unsure if I will reach that goal after doing some comparisons. Im sure everyone will say I need different heads but my goal is to boost the motor in the future. Also Ive been told the 4L80E will slow me down but I built this car to be very reliable.

Engine:
LQ4 414 CI
Forged Eagle Rotating Assembly
Diamond Pistons 11:1 Compression
317 Heads Ported by Tony Barker Racing Engines
Not sure what cam yet, plan on making some phone calls.
Fast 102 intake and 102 Nick Williams TB

Fuel System:
Lonnies Performance Twin 255 System

Chassis:
BMR tubular kmember
Spohn Subframe Connectors

Transmission:
Build 4L80E with Yank SS4000 Converter

Rear End:
Moser 9" 4.11 Gears Waveloc Diff

Suspension:
Relocated lower control arm brackets
All tubular spohn components and a short crossmember mounted torque arm

The only weight reduction I have is a fiberglass hood and racestar wheels.

You have plenty enough motor/combo to run mid 10s. But, as always, the devil is in the details.

Agreed! My cam only car runs 10s with a 6 speed. Lets just say it was all in the details.

You've got 10s in that motor all day. Like these guys said, it will come down to how well the combo is put together, Race weight etc.

My old LT1 with the 4L80E runs 10's in the good air and I drive it all over the place.

As long as your motor runs healthy and the car can hook, I see no problem with why you shouldn't run 10's.

Sounds like you have 10s with that setup but you won't know until you hit the track.

The 80E will slow you down bc it is heavier but if you are making a lot of power like over 700rwhp+ then it wont matter.

It is possible, agree with those about the details, one I like to advocate change for is tranie and converter choice as well as heads.

Taking weight off is a deal maker.

I have to agree with "Mystery Bird" on this one. I put my 4L85E in and the car has gone quicker and faster even at a heavier raceweight!

80Es also eat up more power. So it being heavier and eating up more power you will go slower if all you do is change the trans.

MAC, not being disrespectful here... but I think the question was more, "do YOU have any real-world experience to back up your claims"

Anyone can Google... And judging from your best time (and that horrible 60ft), you probably don't have enough racing experience to comment.

Again, not trying to be disrespectful- I just don't like to see people mindlessly repeating crap they read somewhere else.

OP- Your combo should be good to go for 10's- My car (in sig) ran a 10.91. Your setup should easily be able to beat that.

So now experience is everything? Lol funny one minute everyone is preaching to use the search function the next people are asking for experience. Make up your minds people!

Just saying my lack of experience has nothing to do with the facts ive posted.
