Ported and milled ls6 heads

1 3/4 long tubes with 3" y into 4" single dumped at axle
Pt4000 stall
Built to snot 4l60e running hyguard JD fluid low viscosity
Stock ten bolt with 3:42 gears 4 wheel disk

Front v6 springs

Battery in rear, a/c delete, bumper brace delete, sway bar delete, etc

I'd consider a better tire than the 555r

Yes, absolutley. That's just my daily setup. Will switch to Hoosier and 15" ri for my attempts.

It's a fairly light car I'm sure. If your cam is decent and it sixtys really well, I could see it hitting high tens in great air. Run it and report back! There's a few hp to gain with better headers for sure

Any idea on the weight on the car? Dipping into the 10s is definitely possible if the converter and camshaft combination is matched up well. Stepping up to a 3.73-4.10 gear would help as well assuming traction isn't an issue. Factory 10 bolt might not like it too much though.

I'm not worried about the cam at all, Ed has done about ten cams for me and they all run phenominal. He said he's got something special for me, so I'm excited to try this out. I can weigh the car tonignt, it will be a month or so before I make it to the track, if I had to guess I'd say it's in the area of 3300# race weight. I have high hopes for the converter, but I'm very shocked at how docile it is. It's nothing like I expected, and quite frankly I'm kicking myself for not going 4400. That can always be done if we don't make it this year though. Stepping up gear is an option, but I think I'll go to an 8.8 if I need to get into the rear.

Here is the car, shitty picture. I just got it up and running saturday. I need a new fuel pump, and some Straub trunion upgrades.

After I get the car dialed in, and I need more I'll strip the interior for a few passes if needed haha. Easy to do.

I don't blame you for holding off on the gear swap. In my opinion investing money into the factory 10 bolt is one of the worse things you can do if you are going to actually race with it. I did manage 1.4x sixties on a stock 10 bolt years ago, but it didn't last long with that kind of abuse. It'll be interesting to see your results, I think it might end up taking a little more converter to get you into the 10s though. Keep us posted on the results.

Thanks! I agree, I'm expecting to run 11.3 or so, and really have to fight to get that last little bit. I'm excited to try it out. I'm fighting a serious miss right now that is only present under a load. Changed coil packs, ND just picked up new tr55's, it has used autolites in it right now haha. Hoping th a t fixes it.

We Swapped my dad's nova and it went 11.9 right out of the gate, on nittos with stock suspension, ls1 with ls1 intake, small cam and a stall in 4800 d/a. We will be stepping his up as well soon.

3200 with only the front sway bar removed. Buying a tubular k member and if I hit it in my attempts I bet I can get under 3k

I would say that a cammed ls1 could easily hit 10's with good attention to the setup

I would agree, pending the track. Our track is completely surrounded by cornfields, it's very hot and humid year around. D/a was 4800 last time.
The best d/a I've ever ran in there was 2,500.

I recieved the cam specs Ed is doing for me, and it's huge. Makes the trex look like a 228r. Seems way to big, but Ed knows what he's doing so I'm excited to try it out.

Gives me hope! It hooks really well on concrete. Idle and drill it it just chirps and goes! But blacktop it spins bad. We will find out how far off it is in the 1/4 in a few weeks.
