Yeah that makes me laugh everytime I watch the video! I think he wanted to run me pretty bad. When I drove through the pits he jumped in his car and followed me to the staging lanes. Not only did he do the back up burn out but he did a John Force burnout passed the lights. It was cool racing another Pontiac!

Then he turned the relight on and I have no ideal how much nitrous he was using but it sure looked like a lot. I won that race on both ends of the track!

Well I got the fuel pump in and it seems to be working great. I have now changed out the injecters and we are headed to the dyno in the morning! Stay tune for results.

The ear protection worked great! Thanks for your help!

Well, I finally finished the install on the Racetronix fuel pump last Saturday as most of you all know I have been having some trouble getting the ring off the pump.

I installed the new 42 lb flow matched injectors last night and my good friends and I went to the dyno this morning for further tunning after they installed the new tune to scale the injectors.

The Mustang Dyno was programmed with 3,600 lbs. for the weight of the car which included me and my friend that was doing the tunning. I put 21 lbs of air in the M/T ET Drags and made the test run to make sure all was ready and the dyno was recording correctly.

I pushed on the brakes and clincked the line lock got the rollers going then shifted into 2 nd gear ran it up to 3,400RPM's shifted into 3 rd and brought it up to 3,000 RPM's and stomped on the go pedal!

The results are as follows!

397 HP at 560 lbs.96 HP of Torque, the afr was 12.5, changed the program tried again!

396 HP at 502 lbs. of Torque, the afr was 12.8, changed the program one more time and tried again!

400 HP at 579 lbs. of Torque, the afr was back to 12.5, ready for nitrous!

Put the 15 lb. nitrous bottle in the car at 875 PSI turned it on purged the line got the rollers going move into 3rd gear brought to 3,000 RPM's and stomped on the go pedal and pushed the go button on a 45 HP dry shot at the engine and now my wife and I have a devil car. Most folks would say why even bother with such a small shot? I guess the devil made me do it! LOL

429 HP at 666 lbs. of Torque, the afr came down to 11.9 safe for sure.

Thought I would post the result! Now it is time to go racing!!

Update!

As some of you have read in previous threads, I installed a new fuel pump and bigger injectors in hopes of finally using my dry nitrous setup I had on the car when I had the original engine in the car. All of my previous times to date have been NA. I showed the video of the dyno session where we scaled the injectors in and I posted numbers as well, but we all know the only numbers that really matter is what the car does at the track!! The car made 400 HP NA on a Mustang Dyno in race trim with ET Drags on it, who knows what the torque was that is still in question!

I thought I would share my most recent trip to the dragstrip with you! We headed down to Steele Al. yesterday driving in the rain most of the entire 190 mile tirp thinking I would never even get to pull the car out of the trailer man was I wrong. We must have looked pretty hard up to race since we were the first ones in line to race, it has been since October 24, 2008 since I raced last so I did want to race! LOL.

Well the crew was working on the track when we got there and they spent alot of time on it and money as well! We paid our $40.00 dollars and pulled in got the car out and warmed it up. All runs were made leaving on a 3,000 RPM Footbrake launch as usual since that is where I think the car actually makes torque. I made five NA runs and two Nitrous runs, a 45HP and a 75 HP dry shot at the engine. The Nitrous runs were done only through second and third gear no first gear or at launch.

The DA was at +1,840 all day!

2:18 PM, 60ft 1.441, 1/8 6.84 at 99.46, 1/4 10.82 at 123.18, late on 2-3 shift.

2:45 PM, 60ft 1.442, 1/8 6.83 at 99.04, 1/4 10.78 at 123.30

3:13 PM, 60ft 1.445, 1/8 6.79 at 100.03, 1/4 10.74 at 123.89, new best for a short time that day!

4:06 PM, 60ft 1.434, 1/8 6.73 at 101.15, 1/4 10.61 at 126.99, 45 HP Nitrous shot 2nd and 3rd gear.

4:49 PM, 60ft 1.449, 1/8 6.72 at 102.02, 1/4 10.56 at 127.31, 75 HP Nitrous shot 2nd and 3rd gear let out in 2nd when car started spinning got back in it.

5:22 PM, 60ft 1.432, 1/8 6.81 at 99.59, 1/4 10.75 at 124.06, late on 2-3 shift again.

5:28 PM, 60ft 1.440, 1/8 6.78 at 99.64, 1/4 10.72 at 124.00, New best NA ET to date!

We had a great day met some new folks saw some people we knew and made a safe trip each direction! That is what I call a great day!

Only two things did not go well, one the car had to much gas in it from the new pump install and the dyno session. I made all of those passes and even drove it around a lot and still had almost a 1/2 tank in it when I put the car back in the trailer, second the wife ran out of video tape and did not get the new best ET run to date! I will post some videos soon!

To all:

The videos are loaded for viewing! The first run is the 10.74 ET NA run, second run is the 10.61 ET 45 HP Nitrous run was used in 2nd and 3rd gears only. The third run is the 10.56 ET 75 HP Nitrous run was used at the end of 2nd and all of 3rd gear. There is no video of the 10.72 NA run.

Feel free to let me know what you all think!

Happy New Year!

i was noticing your dyno numbers, dont sound right. 429 hp and 666 tq. 666 tq is crazy for that setup. my car on a 75 shot made 448 hp 436 tq but then again your car is alot faster than mine was. its time to spray that beast out of the hole man....any reason you arent doing that?

Sure, I Have no problem with sharing my efforts!

I have installed poly mild steel tubular Spohn LCA, Drag sway bar, Torque Arm, K-member, Upper and lower A-arms and QA1 R shocks with 275 lb. springs in front only! I made my on travel limiters. I have stock shocks and stock springs in rear! I also have airbag in the right spring which I had before I added the Drag sway bar.

I have the front shocks set on full loose. I have the travel limiters set to allow 4 inches of travel on the front at this time! I have the rearend angle set at -2 degrees! ET Drags are set anywhere from 15 to 16.5 lbs. depending on track conditions. I have the rear airbag pumped up to 25 lbs. I have the front shocks threaded 49 threads from the bottom of the shock. I have tried to set the front end alignment for drag racing!

I Footbrake to 3,000 RPM's and wait on the last yellow stomp on the gas and go!

Hope this helps!

Thanks it is running pretty good! I am really pleased with it! The 429 HP dyno run was using a 45 shot at the engine. The torque was at 490 before pushing the button. I posted the 666 becuase I thought it was kinda cool! That was a convertor spike when I stomped on the gas!

The car dynoed 400 HP NA and 429 HP on a 45 HP dry shot! Since I have a non lock up convertor the TQ numbers are a little different. This was also on a Mustang dyno with slicks through a TH400 and 9 inch spooled rearend. So the engine is making good power when you consider how much it is loosing through the rest of the power train.

With my stock engine I had a micro switch at the throttle body with the FAST and Nick Williams I have to make a bracket for the micro switch to work so I can launch with the nitrous. On December 27, 2008 that was the first two runs with nitrous on the new engine after running it NA since I installed it. I just wanted to make sure everything was working correctly. The other factor is I am not sure how much higher it is going to want to come up on the nitrous in the front.

Dry Nitrous advice needed since I have not used nitrous in two years!

We are working on a new tune and I have a question. If you have your NA tune in the car with timing at 30 degrees and are using 104 unleaded race gas and will be using a dry shot with 75 HP jets max does the timing need to be retarded at all? Also running TR55's at .048 gap. Should I reduce the gap to .044?

AFR is 12.8 WOT NA run and 11.2 +/- WOT on Nitrous with bottle pressure at 900 PSI. I think with it at 950 to 1000 PSI the AFR should be at 11.6 +/-.

346CI at 11to1 compression ratio.

Thanks for your input!
