Do any of you guys work on your feet and have any good suggestion for boots that arent a beating to wear I went back to being a mechanic again and am on my feet all day so I need some good boots, I have been wearing my asics but they are a bit too soft, is there a cushiony supportive boot? Kinda ironic I guess to be cushy and firm but that seems like what I need.

I work on concrete all day and I have some WORX steel toes that are like shoe/boots. They are comfortable like shoes but have steel toe and oil resistant soles. I got them from red wings store cause thats who our company buys from.

Cool Ill look them up, as for Dr. Martins, I would think they wouldnt be the right type of shoe for oil's and other chemicals/fluids that mechanics deal with daily.

may not be the best looking thing but they are comfy. Far better than being in an actual boot. I am on my feet 10ish hours a day and they are great.

Ive always worn RedWings, very comfortable. They would be even more comfortable if I didnt have to wear steel toes. Some guys have complained that they are heavy but I havent noticed.

I have a pair of Dr Martins w/ steel toes, they are pretty comfortable and durable. I think they handle oils fine (dealt with this before).
Ive heard Red Wings are good too.

With any boot, you gotta break em in before they feel good!

I got some Reeboks from Academy. Back where you get all your work shoes from, it's the only pair of reeboks there. They look like regular tennis shoes and are oil resistant.

Haha, I got like 3 pairs of NIB Dr.Martens in my closet. I need to get my other pair, Im overdue.

Really though, they look great, but suck for comfort. Best I would say are these, very lightweight and comfortable. I would say wolverines 2nd. All others ouch.

All look good, those you posted Xplicit, they look real comfortable but are they supportive like a boot, I have never really worn actual boots to work always low rise tennis shoes, basically always running shoes, so im wondering if a boot is better or worse for the long day standing? And as stated above about shoes being heavy, that is something that bothers me, when a shoe is heavy, so thats another reason I am asking for suggestions on boots, should have put that as a concern also.

I had a pair of Dr. Martin steel toe work boots and I loved them. Look into the MUD DOG at Cavenders or equivalent store. These can take a beating and a bit cheaper than DM.

I enjoy the Mud Dog. They are pretty comfortable for a very stiff contruction on the bottom. If anything you can change out insoles for a better fit. Red wings are a great choice but pricey. Go to any store near you and just try them all.

LOL I graduated in mesquite then moved to rowlett, I found the mud dogs at academy there off town east for 89, there is also a cavenders on town east. So I am gonna go here in a minute and look at them. I live in rowlett, let me know when you get back a buddy and me are gonna go to redline raceway in about two weeks or so, maybe we can get a little group together.

Oh, unless you want to plan this trip 2 years in advance I won't be making it out there to redline. I actually lived right next to Bass Pro in Garland before joining the military. Unfortunately I am stationed in Virginia for another 2.3 years. I was home about a month ago for 5 days. When I get out and move back we will be relocating to somewhere a bit nicer like Frisco, Allen, Plano, Collin County. Anywhere but Mesquite and the surrounding area.

Went to Academy the other day, and my husband got the steel toe Timberlands he said they are pretty comfortable, but Wolverine, Timberland and I think a few other brands do a 90 day trial period, if youre not satisfied bring them back. Just a thought.
