transmission choice....whats the purpose of this car? street? strip??

Dynatech also makes a LS1 swap header...few hundred bucks cheaper than Kooks....

where did you find the dynatechs?

also to my list are
intake tube/MAF/fitler
custom lines if you're going to keep A/C
custom lines if you're keeping hydroboost if it is a sn95 car like mine
fabricate a new x pipe
get a driveshaft made
shifter if not included with transmission
transmission crossmember - aje makes them for both those trans choices

You can use the stock k-member I'm pretty sure. just have to fab up some motor mounts.

On their website. They show a list price, but Im sure a sponsor that carries Dynatech might be able to do something on the price?
It shows it as a 1 7/8 primaries and 3 inch collector.

i believe the 4.6 mounts are damn close to the same as lsx mounts. dont forget some kind of tuning software or send your ecu off to someone to get rid of vats.

you can use the 4.6 k member and mounts or any aftermarket k member and mounts, but the aje/kooks combo is the quickest/least effort way of doing it. he'll have enough other small projects to keep him busy.

If you want to stay with an automatic transmission, and this car WILL be your daily driver, try and stick with a 4speed auto of somesort...4L80/E or 4L60/E.
Its nice to have an extra gear/overdrive transmission and you can still run say 4.10s without having the motor to buzzing high all the time cruising around.

I'll be keeping a 5 speed with my swap...

Should be fine...one less accessory (power steering pump) to turn...it will give your arms a nice workout with those low speed turns....or you could get a quick-ratio manual steering rack...

what year is the car??
I guess it would come down to what brake setup you are going to use?

Many will most likely utilize the stock Foxbody brake booster/master setup, since its already there.

Or using a 94-95 Mustang style booster/master.

Should you keep the power steering, and really wanted to you can get a Hydra-boost brake setup from the 96-04 Mustangs.

What is involved in modding the stock 4.6 K-member? That would free up a lil more dough for other essentials

Just the 4.6 motormounts to fit the LSx motor.

Also, depending on the oil pan used and if you are using the stock factory 4.6 K-member, you might need to notch the pan or K-member to clear the oil pan.

Here is a link to read on the motormounts:

Cool thanks!!

I'd be using the F-body pan, that is the one that fits best supposedly.
