I took my factory silvania head lights and cut off the plastic ring by the plug and then pulled the light out. After that i bought an 9006 HID kit off ebay and rtv'ed the hid light into the stock housing pluged up the ballast to the stock wiring harness and then turn them on and enjoy. i will try and get pics.

you 93-97 Camaro guys and us Firebird guys are somewhat limited because of the sealed capsules that we use. Conversion capsules is pretty much it unless you want to go with a custom setup.

THANK YOU SIR, this is exactly the answer I was looking for!

So the 9006's fit good?

Was the RTV the only thing you used to hold the new HID bulb in place?

and thats why hids are illegal. because people (like yourself just put hid bulbs in and blind other drivers. due to the glare and lack of cutoff.

here is some reading for you

That's why all the cops around here in Mansfield, up in Akron, down in Columbus, and everywhere in between - particularly this one place where they are REALLY picky - don't give my HIDs a second glance? Granted, they are in projectors, as all HIDs should be (sig pic is outdated), but somehow I'd think that if all non-factory HIDs were illegal that I would have been pulled over by now, we have enough bored cops around here that are nitpicky about stuff.

Just make sure to aim them down enough that they don't blind oncoming traffic please. Probably will have to drop them down a little from where they are currently.

yea sparky i dont like them being up high thats why i have high beams i normally can just ride on my foglights and if i really really need to see i just hit the high beams

riding in a camaro is bad enough when you live in a hillbilly town that loves their lifted fords and i get blinded all the time so i dont wanna do it to someone else.

Non-factory HIDs are illegal in all states. Its a Federal mandate. Although if you do a retrofit with projectors its less likely that anyone will notice.

Blue bulbs are horrible. The blue coating makes the light whiter, but the coating actually blocks some light so the lights are dimmer. Many people think they are brighter but they aren't; its an optical illusion. The trick is that many think whither light is brighter (because higher wattage bulbs produce whiter light), but in this case the blue coating is what is making the light whiter instead of an increase in output. If you measure them, you'll see that the un-coated bulbs have a higher lumen output (actual measure of light) and if you look out at what the light is aimed at you'll see that you can see better details with un-coated bulbs than with the blue bulbs. Also, our eyes are least sensitive to blue light, which further makes blue bulbs a bad idea.

EDIT.... fixed typos and logical errors...
