jacking up an impala

jacking up an impala Hello everyone,
In my owners manual it says to jack up my 2007 impala by a notch in the rocker panel just behind the front tires and just in front of the rear tires. How does everyone else jack up their cars? Did you make an adapter for your floor jacks to be able to lift at the rocker panel lip? Do you jack the front or the back first?

Well, I've jacked my car up many times according to the manual and haven't had any problems. If you get under there and look closely on the rocker panels, there are small arrows pointing you to the lift points. Use those spots just beyond the actual plastic panel, where the 2 metal pieces are "fused", and you should be OK. I've always been.

jacking my car On other unit body cars I placed a block of wood against the outside of the unibody lip and just jacked the block of wood. But on my impala there is a plastic molding running all along the bottom of the rocker. So do you just place the jack right on the bottom of the lip then?
