Default Re-use camshaft sprocket bolts?

I know everyone says to buy new or go ARP for the head bolts because the stockers are torque to yeild bolts. However, I have never heard anyone say to buy new camshaft sprocket bolts instead of re-using the existing ones. Only reason I ask is because I bought the GM service manuals for my vette and according to them, the camshaft sprocket bolts are TTY as well, which would mean I would need new ones for re-installation, correct?

For the Camshaft Sprocket Bolt <- Actual title listed in my manual, it states 55 lbft on the first pass and then 50deg on the second pass. Did GM change the installation procedure on the LS3?

Are the cam sprocket bolts still M8 x 1.25 on the LS3? If so, they will break with 55 lb/ft of torque.

If they are truly TTY than they need to be replaced; however, I doubt they are TTY.

Yes, they are M8 x 1.25. I think I know the issue. Even though this friggin manual is for my car, they obviously did not incorporate all of the changes that took place with the LS3. Either that or Vengeance put in the 3 bolt cam gear from the LS7 on the car.....not sure. The torque specs being listed I believe are for the single bolt cam gear. Since mine is the 3 bolt, so I will be using the LS7 specs which show the tq to be 18 lbft.

405HP Z06, can you verify this tq amount for me?

I show 26 lb/ft. This is what I torqued mine to during my cam swap.

Well I am going with 26 then. Stupid manual says the LS7 bolts should be tq'ed to 18lbft. I doubt 8 more lbft will make a difference.

Its into steel instead of aluminum so you can go a little over 18 ft lbs. for sure. I do about 25 on those as well with blue loctite.

The stock LS3 used on very large SINGLE bolt hence the 55 pound initial then the angel for the TTY.

If your LS3 has 3 bolts then someone changed to a LS2 Cam gear to work with the aftermarket 3 bolt cam.
