11.28s seem slow for mods
Trying to help a friend out and getting some thoughts of what he should do cause the times he is running seem slow for what he has done to it.. I dont know if the tune is that far off or maybe his combo is wrong.. Just looking for some suggestions on what I can do when i take ownership of this car in the next few weeks. Here is the combo.
99 Trans Am Ws6 - full interior, full acc, t-tops and no weight taken out
Stock bottom end
double roller timing chain
LS2 Professional Products Intake
Holley 90mm tb
SLP Lid w/k&n filter
SLP 85mm mass air
Kooks 1 7/8s LT wit 3in y-pipe(no cats), into magnaflow catback
Untouched 243s
T-rex cam
42lb injectors
125 nos wet single nozzle kit
Mail order tune from thunder racing
T-56(spec 3+clutch, upgraded internals, pro5.0) with strange 12 bolt with 35 spline axles/spool and 4.56s and billet specs 15x10 with 28x11.50x15 hoosier quicktime pros..
suspension is spohn control arms, adj pan hard bar, v6 springs, torque arm, tranny crossmember..
car has best of 11.28 at 123 i think that was the mph with btw 1.5-1.6 60's
shouldnt this car be going faster? is it all in the tune or do the parts not mesh well together? Anything you would change or things that i can look at first or should it go straight to a dyno and get dyno tuned?

I call him and suggest he do a compression check tonight when I head down there and will ask him about the timing.. that's what I thought about the mph too.. I wanted him to do a na run to get a comparison bu they were scraped cause he missed 3rd gear.. thanks for the suggestions guys

what does he run on motor? with 123 trap that is kind of low IMO. he def has a nice combo just have to get it dialed in. but if you can log a run and see what it is doing will help a good bit too.

I love Thuder Racing and run many of their parts on my car, but I personally especially with 243's and a 125 shot would get the car on the dyno and properly tuned with and without the nitrous after I did a compression test.

I see a lot of you guys are a bit delusional here. His car is full weight with a 12 bolt and off the shelf tune. I agree it should go faster with a 125 shot but what was the DA that day and how many HP is on the table with his tune? I can show you a properly built 404 stroker in a full weight TA and a 12 bolt that has only ran a best of 11.19 @ 119.81 because the DA was +2900. TEA Ported TFS 225s, Fast 102/102 custom EPS cam, 1 7/8 headers...he spared nothing. He also wanted a car that would drive great (it does). Too many people come over here and claim certain heads/cam should run 10s all motor and have no idea what it takes to do those numbers...will the 404 car do a 10? You bet! Will it do it year round? No...

I ran your calculator and it is a .3 difference:
Correct your ET and MPH using the DA (Beta Testing)
Density Altitude:
feet above sea level
1/4 mile ET:
seconds
1/4 mile trap speed:
MPH
Stock and Mildly Modified Naturally Aspirated Engines
10.802 @ 123.367 MPH
Extensively Modified Naturally Aspirated Engines
10.92 @ 122.035 MPH
Extensively Modified Supercharged and Turbocharged Engines
11.039 @ 120.618 MPH
This car with a 125 hit should at least be in the 10's no ifs and or butts about it. It's at the very least .5 off.
