Default LS2 Miata - 11.5

Since I've been asked a million times what my car would do in the 1/4 mile I decided to take it to the local drag strip to find out. A buddy of mine brought his GT3 out to play too

It was pretty hot out, about 90-95* with high humidity. I set the rear shocks to full soft, dropped pressure in the 225/50 RA-1's to 20psi and headed out.

As predicted, getting off the line was a real challenge. The twin disc clutch is pretty hard to slip so I was getting a pretty good amount of spin in first gear on every run. I found that if I lifted just a tad and rolled back onto the throttle in 1st it was fine. Once I got it into 2nd gear I could just mash the gas without worrying about spinning. Car is ~2400lbs and with a 3.23 rear, 4th gear should be good for about 140.

I think with a pair of decent drag radials I could get a little closer to 10's.

I took about 10 runs for the night (didn't lose any ) all between 11.5 and 11.7. Here's a couple vids from my best run.

I was trying to figure out if the same size drag radials (225's) would get me a 1.6. I'm hoping so.

I don't mean to be "That guy", but with 430whp and 2400 lbs shouldn't you be going quite a bit faster than 11.5 @ 126?

What was the DA?

It was 90 or 95* and muggy outside. I didn't bring the DA gauge but its within a couple hundred feet of sea level.

You don't think getting off the line with 430hp on 225/50/15's road race tires would effect my ET at all?

Maybe I'm delusional but I was pretty pleased with my times considering the conditions.
