11.62 @ 116 was all I could get
I made some upgrades last winter and although I picked up a couple tenths I fell short of my goal. Last summer I think I went 11.87 @ 114, this year's best was 11.62 @ 116 at the beginning of the season.
This coming winter I am hoping to get a Fast intake and TB, finally upgrade to a good CAI and an updated tune with the expectation to run 11.50. I have a laundry list of other things I would like to do if I can swing the time and money. Wish me luck...
Here is a summary of the car.
2002 camaro
799 heads ported by TEA
BTR stage 4 cam
Stock LS6 intake
ARH 1 7/8 headers, Y pipe and Magnaflow catback
stock 5.7L bottom end
A4 with an FTI 4000 stall cam
3.73 gear, Strange 12 bolt and 26" rear tire.
1.62 60', 11.62 @ 116mph.

Looks good, a 27 or 28" tire may help your 60' if your spinning at all, usually higher stalled autos like yours are in the 1.4-1.5 range, that'll get you to 11.50 alone without the new intake

Not sure of weight, minimal weight reduction of ac compressor, abs, and a.i.r. pump.
best 1/8 et was during the same run 7.38 @ 92.7, but usually in the 11.46 range.
Current rear tire is a Nitto 555R and can be hit or miss with traction. I will be going to a M/T. The problem is I am still with stock 16" rims. The original MT radial should work well and is a 255/60-15 or still roughly 26" dia. The newer radial 2 is a 295/50-16 and I need to see if that will fit or not.

We have extremely similar mods. AI 243 heads, same cam, Fast 92, 1 7/8 headers to true duals. Im just M6 (Moser 12 bolt, 4.11s and 28" tires). 1.71 60ft, 11.7 @ 119.68 with a bad bog. Get that traction figured out and I think youll find your goal before you change the intake. I think mine as a 11.4-11.5 in it without the bog

The mickey 295/50/16s work well on the stock 16x8s, lots of mustang guys run them too on on their 16x8 "pony" wheels as well

you should have no problem getting there as our cars are pretty much the same.

ezzlez and Johnny - the one thing you have that I don't is a Fast intake, fwiw. That is a primary item to get over the winter.
I'll have to measure for those 295's. It looks like some people run them. I know the MT ET street radial's work in a 255. I have them on my nova that runs high 10.80's. Then again the suspension between the two is apples and oranges!
Thanks guys. Keep the comments coming.

He isn't spinning. His 60' should probably be a bit lower with the big converter, I agree. But traction obviously isn't a problem or he wouldn't be in the 1.6s. Some shocks/springs may help you out. Do you disconnect the front swaybar? May be good for a bit in the 60ft.

The front swaybar is off the car. I forgot to mention that weight reduction item. The front suspension is stock with worn out struts. The back is set up with a BMR torque arm, adjustable control arms and strange shocks.
The rear suspension is good, the front needs a good set of shocks/springs. It will transfer weight okay but falls back down too fast. In marginal traction conditions this will unload the rear tire and one of the reasons it can spin. Like I said, most of the time not a problem.

X2, you seemed plagued with crappy DA like me, trapping bolton speeds with a heads/cam car relative to the area though, at my track stock ls1s are lucky to break 100mph and full bolton cars are 106-108mph, even a guy here with a well setup 540whp TSP 416 LS3 only does 121-123

Something seems very off to me. op is running bolt-on times with a h/c car. The mph seems very low. What kind of power does it make?
Is the trans stock with just the converter? Does it ever feel coupled?
What's the shift points?

Even with the DA I am subject to around here I would like to see 1-2 more mph, so I am going to go through a bunch of things this winter, some minor weight reduction, CAI, Fast intake/TB and a new tune.
One of the things I wonder if it is holding me back is the trans. I have a vibration in third gear. I don't notice it at full throttle but it is definitely there at cruise rpm. I had a beast sunshell with bad vibration, but that was supposed to be replaced with a Sonnax. With the Sonnax I still have a little vibration. And how much does that vibration equate into lost hp and et? Maybe it is negligible, I don't really know.
Another thing, I run Type F in the trans, Does anyone know if the viscosity is different with Dexron? If Dexron is a little lighter that may be worth changing over to.

My car this past summer went 11.27 @ 120 in 1800 DA with a 1.57 60ft for comparison. Last year with my old setup and a 3600 converter the car went 12.03 @ 114 in 800 DA. Both setups had the same built trans. I wonder if your trans is slipping a little cause I think your mph should be around 117-118 for that DA with your setup.
