Hoping for low 12s and landed several 11s from stock internals.
I can still hear myself screaming “holy sh*#” to my brother when he handed me my time slip at Thursday’s Atco track rental.
Here are my results. Stock internals, just bolt-ons.
2001 Camaro A4 hardtop ex-police car from Okalahoma
R/T ... .058
60' ... 1.531
330 ... 4.792
1/8 ... 7.527
MPH ... 89.06
990 ... 9.855
1/4 ... 11.911
MPH ... 112.50
Race weight with me is 3525 lbs.
Here are my bolt-ons:
Jet-Hots LTs, ORY, VIG3600, 12 bolt 3.73, Borla, ASP, FTRA, Whisper Lid, Lower control arms and relocation brackets, BMR drive shaft loop and TQ arm, Hal shocks, Free mods.
The only problem that I’m having is that the front driver’s side tire is lifting 8” off the start. If I can get this under control, I know there is some more in her.
Video to come when I figure how to do it.
Attention moderators: Can I get my user status changed to 11 sec club.

'01: What did you say you're running for rear tire? WJ Try the airbag first. Pre-load that side to 20 psi. It should stop alot of the twisting, especially being a steel-roof car. Don't know if you're running full slick, or ET Street-type tire, but the 1.53 60' is excellent. Get that left front whl down and you might see 1.48 sixties, which should give you just about 1/10th at the finish line. Have you looked at your tach when going thru traps? What's the rpm? Come back....WJ

Well, I'm thinking this....With stock heads and cam--if that's what you have, and the great air you had that day, about another 1/10th is all you can really expect. Oh, is the Borla open, or are you going thru muffler? BTW, how many miles on that ex-highway patrol motor, or did you freshen it? My car's a T-top, and used to twist like hell until I did the airbag....also have good LCA's, relocation brackets. I run a Vig 3200, 3.23's, w/26-8.5x15 ET Drags, 3550 raceweight, thru stock exh manifolds, but I only do 1.67 60's & low 12.3's. Your car runs excellent! WJ

WJ, yes the heads and cam are stock and the car has 59,900 miles and change with no freshening. I was fortunate to run the cars history through the GM warranty program. I was talking to a buddy with a LS1 and he also suggested at least the airbag on the passenger side. The Bolra was open with the tailpipe attached. Yes, I agree one of the best improvements that I did was the relocation brackets. You can really feel them working planting the rear. My suggestion for your car would to be to loosen-up the vig and step-up to 3.73, they are not bad at all. I was very impressed with the Jet-Hots and would recommend them for quality, price and fit. The headers really woke-up the motor. How are your bolt-ons? Did you run skinnies? jt

I'm surprised you have all that other suspension stuff done, but not sub-frames? I'd say do that first and see how it does. It should DEFINATELY get that lift under control. I was running about the same 60' today, and I only pulled the wheel an inch or two. Then again, I had really heavy ZR1s up front. What kind of tire did you have?

Raptor, I don't know the size off hand, but they are skinnies on weld 4" rims. I going to look into the sub-frames. Oh and throw some of that Hawk01 luck around. lol

How did you score your car ? At auction, or what? Usually those police vehicles have way more mileage...that's great. My motor bolt on's: ASP crankpulley, TB by-pass mod, TR-55 plugs. Converter w/no shift kit, TCI + 2qt. trans pan, line-lock, SLP fan switch, 345 hp Blackwing lid, FTRA w/Austin extension scoop. Stock manifolds w/Mufflex OR pipes (no cats),SLP factory Dual-Dual w/cutout under pass. side footwell. 26-8.5x15 ET Drags on Convo Pro's, skinnies & Convo's in front. w/3.23's I'm only going thru at 4500. Also running stock shocks f&r, disconnected swaybar links. Also have a good LS1-edit tune by Don Kinder. 3.73's, Hals, Kooks SS longtubes, and 11's here I come..... Get that airbag in and fine tune your Hal's, my Friend. WJ

God bless E-Bay, and no one bid on it!?! I called the seller made a deal and had it shipped. She's not the prettiest with the best paint but that’s coming. Where do you get a Austin extension scoop? When you hit the 11s shoot me a line. Best of luck! jt

Yeah, definately look into SFCs. They were my 2nd mod, and made such a huge difference in handling/traction that I don't know why everyone doesn't do them right away with a lid. So yeah, fork over the $120 for them, $50 to get welded, and enjoy straighter launches

'01B4C: Very few automatic white B4C's produced in '01....I'll let you know how many. Contact Al Austin@ Austin Performance Inc. Think he's at: ssle02@yahoo.com You'll need to order: Cold Air Kit Scoop Addon Conversion. This piece adds on to FTRA (you have to remove their short extension). and comes out in front of airdam underneath. It really picks up the air.... My car's put away until spring. Bad winter's up here. 11's in spring..... I run at New England Dragway, in N.H. and Lebanon Valley Dragway up near Albany, NY. Later. WJ
