Default rear mount turbo oil system

i am planning on getting a universal twin tubo kit from sts and was wondering if it was a good idea tol run a dedicated oil system for the tubos instaed of going of the engine oil system i would use the pumps from the kit and fabricate a 2 or 3 qt oil tank for the system and add a couple pumps for the feed side

I dont really see how its a problem but then the oil would have to get heated so it wouldnt be as thick... probly would need a way to filter too maybe?

do you think the turbos would heat the oil enough and i could add in like a inlne filter of some sort maybe like from a remote filter kit could i run one pump on the feed side and then tee into the turbos and than tee from the turbos and than one pump for the return
turbo
tank--pump--< >---pump---tank
turbo
thanks

If your running a STS kit then you have to run an external oil pump. With the turbos being lower the than the oil pan the oil wont drain back without a pump.

If you are going to make a oil kit like that, I would run a remote filter as well as an oil cooler.

I use a round drysump tank with my rear mount twin turbo system, with a electric oil pump, i used two to4b turbos and the oil intlets from cxracing, i have the third feed line with a bypass back to the tank with a VP Racing Bypass! Seems like it works great so far! I Have been running 5w30 Royal Purple Synthetic Oil, with no filter or cooler! Its nice cause if something fails the engine and turbos are seperated!

I was thinking about doing that, but thats a lot of fabricating that I don't really have the time for. I am tapping the pan and hopefully the pump will be loud enough to know when/if it fails.

There was a thread not to far back that some guy made his own oil system that sat in the trunk, modified trans cooler with fans, and the whole nine yards. I will see if I can find it for you. It had pics and everthing to help you in the right direction.

Scrool thur here and see if that will help you out any

mine will be mounted inside the bed of my s10 under the tonneau(sp) cover with the fuel cell at the fron and then the oil tank behind that so if i mounted the oil tank low enough then the oil would drain back on its own and i would just need a feed pump right

thanks
