Default Brakes only wearing on inside of rotor.

Why is it always that the inside of the rotor wears more than the outside. i have a 2000 camaro with rear wheel disc and my front and back pads were only worn on the inside. i have changed the front but i dont understand why they always only wear on the inside. could this potentially be a problem or is this normal?

Two things...The caliper are single piston, with the piston on the inside. This will cause the inner pad to wear a little more. However if the difference is wera is really noticible, make sure you don't have calipers with pistons that are sticking, and make sure the caliper pins are well lubricated, so the calipers float freely.

This is only my own observation.... I had unevenly worn brake pads inside/outside before I ever did a caliper pin cleaning and regreasing. I have never had unevenly worn brake pads since keeping the pins maintained yearly.

check the slider pins. They may be stuck.

agreed clean the pins and if that's not the problem it's the calipers.
