Default Supercharger Oil Change

Can anyone give me a quick rundown on how to change the oil in a magnuson supercharger on my CTS-V?

From what I'm told, using dealership supercharger oil is the way to go. Opinions?

What? There is no oil to change. All the bearings are sealed. Maintenance free.

Unlike a turbo....::

I called Magnuson and they told me the gears are sealed in the front, but to basically pull oil from the fill opening and replace the same amount about every 10k miles.

I'll check FI section.

Haven't even looked at it closely yet. Was hoping someone had done this recently and had a pic of where to look or something.

Who did you talk to? I pulled this from Magnuson's FAQ page of their website:

"Is there any maintenance required with my kit? Do I need to change the oil in it? A big advantage of our kits is the lack of any scheduled maintenance. The only item to keep an eye on is the drive belt. Just as any drive belt, if it shows any signs of wear, immediately replace it. The nose oil, however, has a service life of 80,000 miles."

http://www.magnusonproducts.com/faq.htm

And I know I have seen Brian (BlownChevy) post several times that there is no maintenance necessary unless you hit 100K miles, when you should send it back to them to have it checked out and some parts rebuilt.

Not sure who I talked to. I should've paid attention. Probably a mis-communication on my part.

I saw the same thing on the website. I won't worry about it then.

Show me a turbo that makes more power than a supercharger, and I'll show another supercharger that makes more power than that turbo, then I'll show you a turbo that makes more than that, then ...

You get the point.

If top fuelers/funny cars used a turbo it would form a black hole and consume the earth. Is that what you want?
