Default The cracked plastic dash

Well i thought it would never happened, the plastic part of the dash under the windshield finally cracked. Anyone have any website i could order one off of? or know if regular auto parts such as pepboys could order them? Heck even if its an aftermarket one that WONT crack once it gets too hot would be great!

Thanks i appreciate it!!

For a 99 TA the GM part# is 10422746. You should contact Scoggin Dickey who is a sponsor here and a GM parts dealer. I have bought many GM parts from them and been very satisfied.

Yeah.. Its even harder to find the 93-97 upper dash pad. I ended up taking mine to an upholstery shop. Should get it back in the next few days.

That is EXACTLY what I am having done.. My upper dash pad and the dash itself. I saw that thread and was motivated enough to have mine done in a Marine grade (UV Ray Friendly) vinyl. As soon as I get it back in the next day or so, I can take some pics if you like..

That is description that comes up for the part number. A lot of time the GM part descriptions are vague at best. I have worked with John over at Scoggin Dickey (username: John@Scoggin) for all the GM parts I have needed. You can always PM him to confirm and get clarification on part numbers before you order.

Looks good except I suspect that your defroster won't work too well anymore with only those little holes to let air through.

Don't mind at all.. It was $275 for the upper dash pad and the dash itself to be upholstered.

The car is obviously going to be garage kept so I'm ok with the small holes vs. the open vents.. But yes, you are correct.. if I ever decided to park it outside during the winter months, it would take MUCH longer to defrost my windshield!

Good eye.. however, the airbag is in no way jammed up. An exerpt from GM's website on airbag deployment:

At what speed will an air bag deploy?

Air bags inflate as fast as 320 km/h (200 mph), and with great force. U.S. Federal regulations currently require air bags to inflate and restrain an unbelted dummy representing the average adult male in a crash test into a concrete barrier at 48 km/h (30 mph). To meet this federal requirement, an air bag must inflate in a split second (about 1/30th of a second). This is faster than a blink of an eye. It is so fast you can't see it happen. In the crash test the air bag must be able to restrain the force that the unbelted dummy, which weighs about 75 kg (165 pounds), applies to the air bag. That force can be as much as 907 kg (2000 pounds).
