Default Lows 12's first time out but not that happy!

I really thought my car had 11's easily.

The car is a 98 Trans am with a 10 bolt (3.73) gears. Most of the supsension has been upgraded (phb, lca...)

Mods
80mm tb
slp lid
BBk Ported manifold
1 3/4 BBk headers to y pipe to cut out (or borla exhaust)
TSP Tourqer V3 with upgraded valetrain
Ported oil pump
double roller timing chain
Under drive pulley
Yank ss 4k convertor

Also took of front sway bar, truck is stripped out, no spare, no back seat, few other random pieces took off.

I was on 17X11 rims with nitto drag radials ( only way they hooked up at 20 psi was with a good good burnout)

This was my best time

R/T .758
60' 1.855
330 5.147
1/8 7.923
mph 88.48
1000 10.329
1/4 12.364
mph 110.82

The only few things I can think of is because Im a vert, air temp was around 65-70, my tune could use more tweaking.

Has to be in the tune. Your combo should be mid to low 11s and 115 to 117MPH no problem. Your 60' would be 2 tenths faster with good traction, but your MPH is still very low.

My cammed 2000 ta runs about the same time with almost the same setup. I think low 12s is right for a cammed and stalled ls1.

Im really not that happy with the tune either. Its good but the car likes to surge on and off espically changing from D to R or on cold starts.

I did too! But unfortunately 11s are a bigger hill than I though. I feel as though my car would do a little better if I actually got a dyno tune. I am currently running on a mail order from frost

Wait whut?

Low 12s is a bolt ons/stalled auto territory. I know because I was there. Your tune is not right or your set up is not right.

When I was bolt ons/ Yanked 3500 stall/3.42 rear minus UD pulley, my car was trapping 110s consistently and running 12.2-12.3s ETs.

I had it tune by a local tuner, he spent awhile on it (didn't dynotune yet). Maybe I should take it to the local speed shop.

It was my first time with all these mods. The nittos were a little tough to get to hook. I do need more practice. I wouldnt mind finding slicks for my stock rims.

any idea what the car weighs? i noticed you said it had some stuff removed. being that it's a vert you'll be a little heavier than even a ttop car to start with.

those wheels are not helping you, at all. i ran a set of those wheels over my stock snowflakes and lost a solid 2 mph, back to back on the same night within 30 mins of each other (bolt-on car). i'd find a set of snowflakes, some m/t et street DRs, and a new tuner...then go back hunting for 11s. my 2000 bolt-on stalled car went 12.0s @ 111 @ 2,000' DA. 3650rw. stock tb and ls6 intake.

i'd be looking for 11.7s @ 114 at the very least. my lid/muffler, full weight 100k mile 99 m6 car traps what yours does.

A 1.6 60' would put you into the high 11s

It shouldn't be that hard with a proper tire since you have a stall and 3.73s

Im looking for a set of slicks or radials for my stock 16" chrome rims. My weight is probably around 3400-3500. I took off sway bar, spare tire, everything I coud out of the trunk, back seat, a few pieces of metal and plastic.
