Crap! almost got it! 12.04@112
I know is a rustang but it's still american. 11's will have to wait I guess. After all the abuse my poor clutch has been through it finally quit on me. Spec stage 3 went bye bye. Here's what happend last night. Weather in the mid to high 60's low humidty.
Track prep was awesome. First pass off the trailer isn't always my best pass. It's usually the 2nd one. But this track day it was my best pass cause it was my only pass. Here's what it did....
R/T: .230
60': 1.570 (6800rpm launch)
330': 4.910
1/8: 7.664
mph: 88.91
1000: 10.048
1/4: 12.045 Damn it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
mph: 112.27
I saw the time and 60' when I read the ticket so I hot lapped it and got back in the staging lanes. Lower the tire pressure and did a longer burnout. Staged and this time I told myself to really let this one fly. Light comes down, floored it, tapped the limiter (7100 rpms) and let her rip. It bit hard. My buddy David said that my driver front could of fit a 2 liter coke bottle under it. Well come time to shift into 2nd and well it didn't. Blew the clutch disk so aborted the run.
R/T: .115
60ft: 1.543
I knew it would of been a 1.4 60ft since I have to shift into 2nd before the 60ft. But oh well. I guess 11's will have to wait. All in all I still got a new best out of it. Took the clutch fork cover off and my pressure plate is still intact so I guess I either folded the disk or it came apart. Not bad for a stock longblock 4.6 all motor. Bad part is that I was lined up against a pretty quick black SS on slicks. It would have been a great race had my clutch not decided to quit. -Mark

haha My buddy back at my old base has a 98 Cobra too in yellow. He drove it and it ran a 13.3-13.5. First time ever sitting behind the wheel I rack in a 12.98, 12.92, 12.8X, then I remember the last one was a 12.82. I could not believe that! I wanted to throw my cars away! I tried my best in my Z at the time and could only rack up a 12.80 I was pissed! Clutch was shot anyway and since I was going overseas I wasnt gonna bother to fix it. Good on you though those cars can haul!

Thanks guys. I was just playing. I know a ford isn't gonna get much recognition on a GM site. It's all good.
SAY GO- The car has all the bolt-ons possible, drag suspension, some weight reduction, and slicks and skinnies. Car still has the stock longblock. -Mark
