I am going Racing next weelend so it's this car's first time at the strip.
I have the TC installed plus the mods in my Sig. I am gonna spray the car as well. I have jets for 50,75,100,125hp so I will see how it goes on 50 first and work my way up to 100hp.
I have still got my SLP Long tube headers to do later on as it's a major PITA install. And I have some 3.73's in the garage too. Gonna get some Nittos too.
I notice hardly anyone mentions using Nitrous to get in the 12's is it only supposed to be bolt on mods without Nitrous!

SI kinda loses most of it's purpose if you're spraying- cause 100hp is more than you'll ever get from a cam swap.
It'd be kinda like saying "I got my Solstice to go 12's without power adders... all I did was swap in an LS2."
but hey, a 12's a 12, SI or spraying... who cares? good luck at the strip.

12's
Well when I had to sell the 95 Z28 I kept all the parts that could be used on the 99 Z28 so I have a new wet 125hp Nitrous kit sitting there (got this cheap too)along with the 3.73's.
So I thought what the hell put it on and getting it working properly ( which I never had a chance to do on the 95 z28) it's a lot cheaper than doing headers Stall etc.
But then I got a chance to buy really cheap set of headers and a stall!
I know I would prolly get 12's with the bolts all on there plus DR's but the nitrous is the first thing I put on.
Second hand LS1 performance parts are very thin on the ground in the UK so when these came up I had to buy them.
I must admit I was going to leave the car fairly stock as it's my DD until the parts came up.
So that's where I'm at. When bolt ons are on I would spray and be trying for 11's anyway!
I can see what your saying but, swaping in an ls2 would be an expensive job. whereas I got my Nitrous kit new for £300 ($500) normal UK price is £645 ($1100)
My stall was £150 ($250) new stall would be $700 UK including shipping
My headers with y pipe and high flow cats was £225 ($380) £1000 ($1700)
So wouldn't you want to get 12's the easiest and cheapest way Nitrous!
I can see with a bolt on car it's 12's all the time with out the cost of refilling
the bottle.
The bolt on mods would cost 3 times the cost of Nitrous?
I can see arguments for both methods of getting 12's.
Even with Nitrous 12's are not a certainty, I still have to get the car to hook up aswell and get it sparying right with the window switch etc.!

Update on weekends racing
I went drag racing just on Sunday cause the forcast was crap for Saturday.
My weekend didn't quite go according to plan, but I got some good times on the motor along.
13.36 at 102mph with a 1.94 best 60ft
I thought my mph would be higher than 102 what gives?
I did 5 runs and tried to spray the car on the first 2 but I coundn't feel anything happening and that was reflected in my times
13.55 and 13.45
So I do a pass with the Nitrous turned off and I get 13.37!
So I think somethings wrong here I'm running faster without the Nitrous
The reason I ran spray from the off was the was a lot of cars in the staging lanes and I thought I might only get a couple of runs in, and on the way to the track I did a test run with 75hp jets and the Gtech for a 1/4 mile.
I got 12.59 at 115mph and I forgot to turn off the traction control. I got away pretty good (sorry hooked up) and I could feel the nitrous kicking in good and it felt strong. When I saw the time on the gtech meter I thought holy ****!
I tested the Gtech against the tracks timing and found it to be reading about .2 fast and 5mph fast. So it's a good indicator of what your running.
So I thought I had the set ready to run as soon as I arrived at the track. I had done about 5 50hp test run on the street also.
I did some testing in the pits and found the Nitrous solonoid was opening but no Nitrous was comming out. the purge was ok though!
So I have either a blocked or faulty Nitrous solonoid. I am going to swap the purge solonoid with the Nitrous one as soon as I get a chance. I couldn't do this at the track cause I had no wires cuuters with me to re wire them.
Anyway 13.36 is good for TCI3000 A4 with 2.73's and street tires.
The Stall is the only mod I have that really makes any difference to the cars performance.
No 12 second run but either put the LT's and 3.73's in there or get that spray working and I'm there!
