Default Should I be disapointed?

I ran my car for the first time after the LT's, ORY and tune. I really thought my MPH should have been better with a m6. Here are times before and after tht LT's.

LID, LM, worn continental's
60' - 2.083
330' - 5.702
1/8 - 8.642
MPH - 84.33
1000 - 11.155
1/4 - 13.269
MPH - 107.23

LID, LM, LT's, ORY, tune, new Yokohama's
60' - 2.168
330' - 5.688
1/8 - 8.570
MPH - 85.81
1000 - 11.032
1/4 - 13.107
MPH - 108.65

I was having problems with getting it to hook up, shifting to second too. I thought the new tires would be better but not sure if they are. What do you guys think, were my expectations of 12.9s too high? If I would have brought my 60' down into the 2.0 range would my MPH rise and what would my et's be? Your opinoins are appreciated.

are you short shifting that thing?

i think your mph should be up, too. usually the harder you hook off the line, the less mph you'll have. i trap that with the same mods in an untuned big stall auto..

i wouldn't be disappointed until i knew everything was right and the car still wasn't performing, looks like it's time to start the dreaded "hunt for my problem" game...ah i love it!

You need to get your 60' time down. And when you bought new tires, you should have bought some Nitto 555r tires. They'll hook really nice for ya. You should be able to hit a high 12 if you can get your 60' down.

I was shifting 5700-5800 RPM's. Is it possible that the clutch is slipping and the loss of traction I'm feeling is actually clutch slip? It's got 50k on it and usually isn't driven too hard. I'm not hearing any tire spin when I hit 2nd or 3rd hard like I used to, but that could be do to the LT+LM+ORY.

Any more opinions?

I have the same horsepower, but less torque then you, and ran identical times. I believe that once I go to the track after the gears I had installed, that the car will run 12's for sure. The main issue is your 60' time. If you wanna run a 12 sec. pass you need atleast a 2.0 sec. 60', unless you are at a serious low altitude.

Good luck. Hopefully i'll be in the 12's shortly.

Car's making plenty of power to find the 12s, look at the 60 foot times. 8 hundredths worse, and that adds up going down track. Figure if you can get that down to a 2.0 in good air, 12's will be yours!

Good luck!

You gained MPH but lost time in the 60'. Time to relearn how to launch with the new setup.

It took me many passes to hit the 12's with the same mods. Drag radials were a big help. I was trapping similar speeds though. Weather has a big influence on it too!

I ran consistent 12.9's until a cool fall day and ran a 12.7 - always in seach of the perfect run, very hard in a manual though.

It feels like it's pulling harder than just a 1 MPH gain. I'll just have to go back and try again.

Try shifting at 6000-6200, right before your rev limiter at 6200 rpm. Although you won't be able to do that in 1st, because the rpm's in your dash cannot keep up with your car. My car does this in 1st + 2nd gear, then I can shift higher as indicated once I do the 3rd to 4th shift.

I gained 4 mph by adding longtubes and true duals, untuned. I have also gotten my best mph on my lowest ET. Get some drag radials and you'll be in the 12's.
