Well, you just need some practice with launch and you'll bring the short time down.
Nobody was born with perfect launch, we all went through what you are going thought, though not too many F-Body owners hit 2.6 short time, that looks bad but nothing practice can't fix.

Get some d/r man......................... They aren't that expensive either............... If your worried about the rear don't launch it so hard with d/r on and you won't have anything to worry about. Im assuming you were spinning your tires badly on that run?

with that trap speed you got 12's for sure, the key is all in your '60 ft man, just get some more practice and you'll get it for sure, if you cant afford drag radials right now make sure you're heating up the tires properly and also try running them at around 25 psi, hope this helps...

next time, a bit less rpm on the launch! 2.0 60' will = 12's for you. hell, start like you are getting on it from a red light, minimizing wheel spin and then when it has traction floor it! then work your way up with RPMs from there....

guys he'll need like a 1.6x 60' to get an 11 sec pass in a stick car @ 111 mph.
i don't see an 11 sec pass without a 12 bolt and slicks. even then it would be a stretch.
granted that car might trap a bit higher with a better driver, but still...112-113 is barely tagging 11s with an m6.

Dont worry I ran a 13.7 at 101mph with a 1.96 60'. When I came off the line I wa spinning through 1st and 2nd. The whole car is stoc. It was my first time driving a M6 at the track. I should do better next time. John

I have had the same luck, mods in my sig w/out the sfc and I got high 13's and low 14's even. It was my first time to the track ever and I was spinning all the way down the track. Tires were bald and my best 60ft was a 2.1 or something like that. I will be in the 12's eventually!

Am I to understand that you only got one run in? If so, that's not bad at all for your very first run. My cousin ran an 18.1 in his '05 GTO the first time he went down the track. The next run was a 14.0, but that first one was just amazingly bad. It happens the first time.
If you spent a few runs at the track, that's still not too terribly bad. When you get practiced up, you'll get much better. I believe myself to be an inherently bad driver at the track. I don't seem to have any talent for it, yet my 60's have gone from 2.4's to 1.7's over the past few months.
When doing your burnout, a few things to note:
1) Don't roast the tires. If they're street tires they'll just get gummy and not stick any better.
2) Don't go through the waterbox.
3) Turn the tires over a couple times just to be sure they're dry and to get all the rocks/dirt/crap off of them.
