Default Very dissapointed, no 12's for me today..

Well after waiting for 4 hours at a ferry from Port townsend I finally arrived at Bremerton about 4:30. I had my car Tech'ed by 5. Went strait to the staging area. Got set up in the Left lane. Warmed up the tires and went to the line.

Light turned green I mashed the gas and I pretty much did a smoke show with my crappy 315 Sumo's. Started to get a little sideways, shut her down hit it agian, and same thing. Slid out from under me. That pass was----

60ft------2.309
1/4------17.07 lmao
at 79.37mph. Pretty bad huh????? It was ligke i was on ice..

Next pass. right lane
60ft------2.335 spun really bad as well.
1/4------15.203
at 103.18mph

Next pass left lane
60ft------1.925
1/4------13.012
That one was against an 02 vet he only got a 14.02

And then after that it was pretty much between 13.3 and 14.0.
If I had better traction I know I could break into the 12.'s I was kinda embarrased, but next time hopefully it will be a different out come.

Lane

try easing onto the throttle instead of mashing it off the line

That sounded just like my first time at the track. After driving a few hours to the track with a bunch of other f-bodies first pass was a like a 14 something. Traction was the problem for me to but no **** b/c I was no my everyday tires. My best pass the whole day was a 13.3 next time i'll have better tires. Good luck next time man.

when to the track for the very first time tonight(never raced anything at the dragstrip) and i was thinking i was tough **** but i was TOTALLY wrong. i just felt like o i can spin tires a little bit and not shift very hard and ill easily get into the 12s, yeah that didnt happen.i kept spinning the damn tires at the line, i would see the green light and then completely mash on the damn gas, sit there for awhile and spin tires and finally realize hey im not moving, then let off the gas, then mash on it again for an awesome grand total of 15.f'ing2 along with a bunch of other 15 runs. i had a best time of 13.61 (i mean a stock T/A would blow my doors off, wtf). right when I started to improve the track closed down, hopefully i will get this down. Was anybody else in my position?, really crappy beginner driver but eventually you got the hang of it.
