Default Cadillac 12.89@114

I've run faster a couple years ago but wasn't a member of this awesome forum back then. Yesterday, on a cold track (Pacific Raceways in Kent, WA) I ran a 12.89@114mph in my V. I ran against a black Mustang GT w/ drag radials. I think I put no less than 12 cars lengths on him. The sleeper Caddy always draws a crowd

I am assuming he spun...what was ur 60ft OP? 114 should be low 12s, high 11s for many cars on this board...

Stock CTS-Vs typically run 13.2-13.4 @ 107-109mph. Wheelhop is always a problem. I have about zero traction through 1st and 2nd gears. The suspension setup will let me run circles around alot of Porsches on the road course but kills launches from a stop. There is very little rear end squat. I routinely see wheel spin on the 3rd shift as well. This is a very hard car to launch well. My 60' was a 2.243 on that 12.89 run. The guys running low 12's on these cars are still only seeing 1.9-2.0s 0-60 times. Check dragtimes.com and you'll see that the guys running more boost and/or nitrous are still only running very high 11s to low 12s and trapping about 118mph. It is NOT a launch monster but not bad for a heavy-*** sedan.

BTW, what is your best time if you think they run 12.9s stock?

2.243 is killin ya, but I wouldn't doubt the difficulty of that launch...If there is anyway to bring that down even into the 1.8-1.9 range, you'd easily be cracking low 12s, high 11s in that heavy beast...still a sick *** car...

114 mph is all kind of mph for 12.89, I bet the Mustang driver never saw you coming! Do you have the stock rear end or have anything done to the rearend? Hell your not doing bad to have run those times and still have an intact rear end!

I hear you guys. Even a 2.0 60' would get me down to around 12.5. The rear is stock as there isn't really a 'good' option for the aftermarket yet. I'm currently on my 4th differential and Cadillac has told me that they won't warranty this one if it breaks. There is a $8000 option but, well, that price isn't really an option to me.

Default My two cents

I have owned an 04 cobra and I was looking for a way to cut down on wheel hop. I found a guy that was running your typical drag air bags. I dont know how the caddy is setup but this may help. My friend is in the process of putting a tt hp kit on his terminator and he is going to try this out. Cant hurt and they are pretty cheap.

It probably would help but I'm more into the road course stuff with your very occasional drag day. Changing the suspension isn't really an option as it would effect handling.

Drag bags allow you to use them only when drag racing by inflating them, i believe

Yeah, just air them up, or let the air out... I had drag bags on my GTO... I assume the IRS is similar between the CTSV and GTO?

They are well worth the $100 or whatever they cost now.
