Default Going to try and hit 12's with 2.73s and street tires

i have a 2000 z28 that has a lid and weld in flowmaster muffler, i have longtube headers, ls6 intake, and a 3800 stall, but before i put that all on i want to try and run a 12 second pass. I know its far fetched but me and this mach 1 run all the time. He is an awesome driver and he runs consistant 13.0s, and every time we race i am at his door the whole time. I think i might actually have a chance at this. ANy thoughts?

I ran a 12.7 @ 109 on stock street tires, 2.73 gears, Pacesetter headers, SLP lid.

After adding the 3.73 gears I only gained .1 and 2mph...but I did add 17x9 and 17x11 rims that were much heavier than the stock 16s.

It's gonna be very difficult with just a lid and Flowmaster with those 2.73s, but good luck and post up results.

i know a certain member here that went 11.70's with 2.73's - SI, weight reduction, 4000'ish stall and a slick.

so i'm sure you could knock into the 12's.......

No need for a tune... I went 12.7 on street tires with 2.73 gears untuned....Lid, LTs, dynomax bullet...

The common factor seems to be exhaust, including LTs. Like I said, just a lid and Flowmaster CB is going to be difficult with the 2.73s. Weight reduction is going to help out a lot depending on how much you get off the car.

I went 13.07 @ 106 last night with a lid, tune, and magnaflow CB

I definitely need a stall because I wasn't spinning and the best 60' I could get was 2.0

The tune can help pick up a bit, as well.

I ran a 12.9 when it had the 2.73, and picked up .3 with a 3.42 gear.
