There is motor oil in my intake?

There is motor oil in my intake? I just pulled my FAST intake off to start a port job on it and noticed my intake runners on my heads looked abnormaly dirty. I pulled apart the intake and there was quite a bit of oil in the intake itself. The only thing I noticed is there is about an inch of the gasket (the one sealing the upper and lower shelL of the FAST) was missing on the firewall side. My friend said a vacume leak such as this could possibly cause it to pull oil through the intake? It is worrying the heck out of me. Please help!

I have seen a few LS1 cars develop blow by on the rings and this was the first sign. Not to worry you, but I'd run a compression test. Also check the PCV system for proper operation.

Yea i would definatally do a compression check. If you have good compression and no blow by with the rings I would look into investing in a catch can. Ls motors have blow by and the more power you make the more blow by your going to have thats just the sad truth.

The PCV system is unchecked if you have any vacuum
before the throttle blade, and you can suck up a whole
lot of oil fog at WOT.
May as well proceed with the checkup but it's pretty
normal to find even on a motor in good condition.
I put a small fuel filter in that line to catch reverse
flow.

I will try to do a compression check when I get it all back together. The car only has 76000 miles on it and really has'nt been beat to death. The car makes 403rwhp so it is making a decent bit of power. Where does a catch can go?

Pretty sure where ever you wanna put it. You can buy longer hoses and everything for it. It goes from your PVC from your valve cover to the intake tube where your PVC piping runs to now. It just has this can in between to catch all of the excess oil.

Definitely normal. Mine was doing it with 30K miles but more power (445+). I just put in a catch can and it's already catching some oil. This oil mist could also lead to detonation and knock retard. After I put in my catch can and the 90/90 setup the tuner was able to add a couple deg of tuning and it still wasn't picking up any KR whereas I was before.

1995 impala lt1 v8 i just bought the car and i think i have a blown head gasket i tried starting it and it wouldnt it smoked really bad white smoke so i took my intake off and checked the throttle body and injectors all fine then put it back on with the top part off tried to start it and it did. then i shut it off and started again checked mass air and it stutured and blew oil threw the throttle body i think it could be blown head gasket???? please help spent to much money to be told i have to buy a new one anything helps im not a mechanic thank you very much
