The LSX will take any type of LS based head, just have to get your pistons matched to your valve degree choice.

A LS3/L92 top-end would work just fine. You may want to port the heads to keep up with your large ci though.

I would have them ported and then send them to LME (I believe that is the company that has been doing this) to convert them to a 6 bolt head in order to hold the power since some people have had some issues lifting the heads on regular 4 bolt L92's in boosted applications.

Those Mast Motorsport LS3 (ETP) 6 bolt big bore heads would work very well. They're 12 degree though.

if the valve is vertical on the pistons surface it`s 0 degrees (the best as the intake port or neck or throat what ever they call it will be vertical also and best for sucking the air charge)

old sbc mostly are 23 deg valve angle .... the 18 degree heads with larger valves and bigger intake ports produced major airflow and power and there are other race heads with less that 18 deg

the ls1 came stock with 15 deg heads

tfs are 13.5 deg

etp are 11 deg valve angel (corrected thanks stage7)

this is how I understood it .... it might help a bit

ETP are 11 deg (LS1 castings)

that helps a lot thanks

BUT when you say valve is vertical to the piston at 0 deg for BEST AIR FLOW
do you mean the HEAD of the valve would be siting flat on top of the piston with the stem vertical to the piston top or laying down across the piston with the stem horizontal to the piston

what deg are stock LS3 heads ?? 15 deg

if you changed the heads to something with a differant angle etp say would need differant rocker gear and push rods ??

the first .... the valve face surface are facing the top of the piston (no angel)

there are a kit sold seperatly to use the etp heads for their valve angel ... check etp heads on texas-speed I think it`s listed there

I assume he means very expensive by grip ... maybe as it costs money that needs to be hold together by a grip not by a few fingers

Are you talking stock ls3 heads that you want to put on or aftermarket. Doesn't the LSX454 come with LSX heads that are supposed to flow great?
