Default How to tell a z28 from a SS

im looking at a car for sale and it has all the ss **** on it hood,spoiler,emblemsbut. I dont know how to tell if its a clone or not. I was told even on the title it said they were all z28s?????

The easiest way is to look at the RPO codes on door sticker and for the life of me cannot remember if the Y2Y is the SS code or not right now.

WU8 is the RPO code you should look for. My title states it as a Z28

yes the SS is a z28 with the SS option package. there is a code which you could proabably find on google. what makes you suspicious about the car?

you can call SLP and give then the VIN. They will tell you if its a true SS and what options it received

Sure, they can stick you for a couple thousand more with an SS. If its a Z and they sell it as an SS he gets ripped off.

SS cars also have Z28 in the rpo code along with the WU8.

If you have the RPO code WU8 it is a SS, now if it also has Y2Y code that means it has the SLP performance option as well.

I would not pay **** more for an SS, unless it looked like it was worth more money. I.E. Very nice shape and low miles. . . .

As already stated it will have WU8 in the RPO code list, and it should have SLP stickers on the door jamb on the driver side as well.
