Default LQ4 Head ARP head bolt Q's

I picked up my forged iron block today for my turbo build. Now I got one question.

How can I tell what year my LQ4 is out of?

I need to get head bolts. The block is one of my spares I built, could not tell you what it came out of. All I know is, it had 317 heads. I do have the intake and all that stuff that was on it though. I cannot tell if it is a 99-04 and needs ARP 134-3609 or 2004-2006 block needing ARP 134-3610. I am guessing its a 99-04. Is there a way I can determine the block date some where?

Put a piece of wire down the head bolt holes and check the depth, 3 different lengths and you know you have the 1st design.

If you're trying to decide if you need head bolts all the same length or not, just stick something, like a long small screwdriver in the head bolt holes. If they are all the same depth then you need head bolts all the same length.

Yea that was what I was thinking the difference was but I wanted to hear it from others. I have not pulled apart the LS2 out of my truck yet so I could not confirm that just yet. Thanks guys now I need to order some ARP stuff lol.
