Default 04-05 CTS V insurance costs?

A co-worker of mine is seriously considering trading his 04 F150 for a LS6 CTS-V. His main concern is how much his insurance rates might rise.

What are some of you early V owners paying for full coverage insurance right now?

I don't want to throw out what I am paying, sorry. However I will tell you due to more safety features my insurance went down comapared to a 2004 Jaguar X-type.

i wont say the number either...but i will say it was lower then i thought it would be for me (at 24 and single). and that was due to the advanced safety features that the car comes with.

I don't remember exactly what everything was but when I sold my 02 Harley Davidson F-150 and bought the V, I think my insurance was the same. If it did change it was not enough to make a difference.

there are so many factors to consider in insurance. You can't get an idea based on what I pay or anyone else because you don't know all the discounts, companies, etc.

Like others have said, just call your agent and ask. They will gladly give you a quote. If they don't then I'd be looking for another agent. I have called mine so many times she answers the phone to me personally she knows who it is LOL. (or it's caller ID lol)

very true! I got a quote from progressive the other day. $750 for 6 months to fully cover my 2005 V and my wifes 2010 Honda ridgeline. And that's paying the full 6 months up front which is also a discount. So needless to say, I'm switching to progressive! Bye bye geico!

I pay 110/month with everything. But like everyone said, it's always different, you just have to call around or go online. You usually get the most accurate rates online and it's a lot faster.

My agent said my 06 was a symbol 24. A Vette is a symbol 21.

She said the issue with a V1 is parts availability.

Wow, so many variables in this state ie.,
how much collision coverage and deductible;
the deductible on comprehensive;
uninsured motorist coverage;
PIP pesonal injury protection coverage and threshold;
daily driver or pleasure only use;
miles driven to and from work if it's a daily driver;
your age;
your marital status;
the state you live in;
the county and the population;
any tickets or accidents on record;
and by now you have guessed it . . . it's the 'lawyers' State . . . the State of NJ
"just bend over" and give-up your wallet.

Also with mine....if I have no claims for 3 years....I get a 1/4 of my premium back at the end of the year....and every year after that as long as I maintain no claims....

Even in Louisiana (we recently passed New Jersey to become the WORST state for insurance) mine isnt too bad. I think it is about $140/month full coverage...which is about $20/month higher than the 05 GMC HD I traded in on it.
