Default 18 x 10.5's Z06's... what tires will fit?

I've got 18 x 10.5's with 275/35R18's right now and they need changing. This is on a 2000 TransAm WS6 Ram Air, if that matters. How big can I get away with using these rims? I like the look of a 275/40R18 cause it fills in the wheel well a little more but can I go wider like a 295/40 or ???

Please help because I need to pick out these tires this weekend if possible. I have a couple hundred mile run I need to make and the tires I have now (F1's) are VERY dry and cracked and I don't trust em'.

Thanks

275's are too small for a 10.5" rim. slap on some 305's

this is on the back right?

You should be running a 295/35/18 on that sized rim, that tends to look best as well.

Hey:

Do you have 10.5s on all four corners, if so 285/35 or 40/18 Nittos 555s, 05s or Invos, all the way around.

10.5's all around... should've stated that... sorry... now I'm really confused. How big can I go ALL around without any issues?
Also, maybe I'm old school... I like the 35's now BUT I think I'd like a 40 for just a bit more sidewall to fill in the well...

Opinions... pics???

Thanks

285's in front, 295 or 305's in the rear. i know from experience a 275/40/80 rubs the wheel well in the front a little but no damage.

Hey:

I have Nitto 555s, 285s all round 35s in the front and 40s out back with a spare pair of NT05r 315 35 18 for the rear for track use, All on 10.5 rims. Don't go any bigger than 285 for the front as that may even rub a little, 315s in the rear but may have to BFH and/or use spacers, roll lips, depending on the car. I had Nt05s all around and liked them better than the 555s.

Hey:

285 is the widest tire recommed for 9.5 wheels, so 285 or 275 are fine IMHO in 35, or 40 if you like a taller tire and better ride.

IMO, if your doing the same style tires, I would do a 295/35/18 rear and 275/35/18 in the front. You can also do a 315/30/18 in the rear (They will be wider, but shorter than the 295/35/18), Or if you want a drag radial, you can do a 305/35/18 in the rear (Will be a tad wider and taller than a 295/35/18). Do an advance search on those tire sizes and you will find some pictures of different tire types and how they fit on certain wheels. But Def do the 275/35/18 in front so you don't have any rubbing issues.
