Default Cost to turbo an LS1...

Can someone give me a run-down of parts & costs on a good single turbo setup for an LS1? The max. I would like to spend is about $20k.

Thanks.

There is a twin turbo kit on CL for $5,000.. So add in fuel system, rear end, gauges and I guess that's it.

no, she doesnt want an ebay kit.

I'll be honest and say that I don't know a lot about turbo systems, but I'm willing to learn.

I'd like to know the best kit out there for the LS1...

what cam to use with it [size, brand, etc.]?
gears?
pistons, rods, rockers, & other various engine components..?
fuel system?
stock tranny [m6] or switch to a4 + stall?

Im reading up on everything I can right now, but I'd like some cliff's notes because there's ALOT of info out there on the intrawebz

$20k will be sufficient. It just depends how big you want to go (cubes, turbo, etc.)

Can you give me some suggestions/examples? Please, I'm open to everything. I'd like to know what my options are so I can make an informed decision.

Can/should I stick with my stock ls1? Do you recommend going bigger? 347?
The turbo size will heavily depend on the engine size and power goals, correct? 650-700rwhp is not completely unattainable on a stock block, is it?

If all you are looking for is 650/700 just get a forged 347 on stock heads...

Imo it would be easier and probably cheaper to just install a procharger for that power level.

Very much agreed, at those power levels your 6spd is going to absolutely hate you and require alot of parts that still may break. Plus an auto and turbo means always in boost

But everyone knows auto's are slow lol.. I can't wait to turbo my car, going to be a cheap *** though lol..

The turbo is an APS kit, idk how good they are. If you are somewhat close I would love to help you install it since I am afraid to tear down my car haha.

Any thank you someone that doesn't like bogarts haha, I have always been to scared to say it.
