I just got some nitto 420s for my truck. The size is 275/60/17

This truck is my daily driver but it is also a "street truck" as it has mods and I do "compete" on the street with friends sometimes lol

So whats the best PSI to run them at to get a good side wall flex but still be good on the daily driver status at the same time? And when I go to the track what is best PSI also?


ALSO: Anybody have any feed back on those tires? I had to order them from discount tire and will arive monday or tuesday so I just wanna know what to expect lol

What's the factory recommended rear tire pressure(w/empty bed) for your truck?

IMO, try a minimum of 28psi(rear tires)on the street (w/empty bed).

Up front factory psi.

Uhm I cant remember off the top of my head... I remember when I had the 20s I kept it at 45 PSI

I was running the 420s in my past truck, 255-55-18s and liked every single bit of them. Traction was good in wet/dry pavement, durability was also good too. Then I decided to try the new toyo proxes, and did not liked them at all. Traction was awfull when dry, so you could just imagine when wet. I believe factory tires had more traction than the toyos. I would run both sets of tires to factory rating psi to get the most out of them, and for the track I had a set of 15x10s with nitto drags 275-60-15 set at 18psi

Only emblems I think on mine are the Silverado emblem on the back. Took off the LS symbols and stuff like that when I got it re painted. Yea I take alot of pride in my truck lol alot of people dont realize how much iv done to it since when I bought it stock. Iv literally torn every single peice of my interior apart lol painted exterior alot of exterior mods ect.

WELL this is my sad story.... my 275/60/17 was wayyy too big for the front with my 3/4 drop kit (WTF was I thinking??!!!) so I got some 255/50/17 nitto 555 for the front and are awesome. The rears deff fit, but they are freaking HUGE!!! Way bigger looking profile size than the stock 2??/75/16 tires. Really confusing concept... The rears look like like some sort of lifted truck tire lol makes it look really funky Thinking of going one size smaller on the profile. On the bright side it looks badass from the very rear haha

But its nothing going to the tire shop tommorrow to tell them "im not satisfied" with them and want replaced to a smaller tire for free wont fix just gotta wait a day for them to order the tires. Thank you Discount Tire satisfaction garuntee lol

Really you didnt like the proxes? My cousin has a truck exatly like mine with them and loves them. Then again he has 22s lol

And BTW, your truck does look awesome too with the drop kit nice choice! how big of a drop did you go? Even the single cab versions of thos year silverados look huge! Lol deff need a drop kit from factory. Hey look iv got custom side exhaust like you!

Sorry to seem like im ranting on and on but one more question I promise lol did yours come witht the famous "one wheel peel"? Mine does its a fast truck but that thing is hindering my traction. And looks dumb when burning out lol. Know of any place I can get a locker or something for cheap? And how much for install?

Thats way cool that you get to pick out a new set of tires, didnt know that about DTC. You should definitely post up some pics once shes up and running.

Are you going the same size all around? In the second pic, i was running 255-60s for the fronts, and the 275-55 out back. Sidewall looks a tad bigger on the front, but the rears did have a wider look. The only downside is you cant rotate fronts to back (I mean you can, but it'l look kinda funky)

To tell you the truth I didnt know jack squat about drop kits, so I just went to my local drop/lift truck shop, and odered a McGaughy 5/7 drop kit, I had no idea it was gonna go that low lol. Ride quality was eh O-K, just didnt like bottoming out, it had no C-notch.

And no, when i would hit the go pedal, you would see two black stripes on the road. It came with the G80 lock diff, I know it is known for it to fail, but mine worked like a charm. I would ask around your local performance shop's, get feedback of some Differential builders, maybe they can point you in the right direction for a posi trac.

Yea my 3/4 drop kit doesnt sound like thier that low to your 5/7 but mine seems alot lower lol. Look at my pictures, the whole diameter of the 275/60 is a tiny bit bigger than the 20s I used to have, while the 255/50s had less, well, im sure you can imagine the fronts lol but look at the picture and imagine it. Wouldnt it look stupid? lol well it does! Will one size down in the rears make that big of a difference (275/55/17)? Sorry I cant get a pic its been raining the past week with no end in sight lol damn San Antonio weather

And yes Discount Tire does that. Remember that commercial saying "If your ever not satisfied with our tires, feel free to bring them back" with the old lady throwing her small tire through the window of Discount Tire? Haha plus im just telling them that it rubs on my fender lol which is very belivable because it already has once over a speed bump. Damn things BARELY fit

the 275/60/17 are 30", 275/55/17=28.9", 255/55/17=28.04", and
255/50/17=27.04".

for daliy driver I would go 35psi. I wouldnt put the max tire pressure says on the tire. Center of the tire gets bald quickkkkk
