Default 5 Lug Conversion Thead

Ok, due to a few interested parties, I'm starting my own thread for my 5 lug conversion.

I just purchased 4 C5 hubs with all brand new studs (hubs have 1.5K to 4K of mileage on them) for $220 shipped which is pretty decent.

Next I need to get rotors that will fit these hubs and my caliper. I need to get some 2010 Camaro SS rotors either takeoff stockers or aftermarket x-drilled or slotted for appearance purposes.

I'll also be needing some wheels that will fit the stock V offset and width. I'm clueless about offset so I'll need some ideas on wheels. What offset range do I need to be in? I'm assuming 9" is the absolute widest in front with 10" in the rears? I'm wanting 19's and perhaps even 20's but rather 19's. I've never seen a 19/20 combo on the V....

Please don't tell me to have some made custom as I would have just done that in 6 lug stock form. I'm switching over to 5 lug for the wider array of new/used wheels out there for corvettes and to have something different all while saving some money.

So can someone tell me.....
What if I bought 4 of these (C6 front wheel's) 2009 C6 Z06 SPYDER WHEELS - CHROME - 19x10 +56mm and used a +/- 10mm Spacer. Would I need to get longer studs?

On the fronts, i'd need to narrow the wheel by how much?
Will I need a spacer on the rears too?
Will I need spacers and longer studs all around?

OR

What about 4 of the ZR1 wheels (in black or chrome) 2009 ZR1 REPRODUCTIONS - GLOSS BLACK - 19x10 +40mm
This offset looks right on. I assume I'd need to narrow the fronts too though.

Any thoughts would help.

FYI: I've been using this site for great wheel prices and offsets/sizes: http://www.corvette-wheels.com/repro...or-c6.html?p=1

I wish the spyders were in +40mm offsets.

I like the ZR1's because the offset is 2mm from stock so I wouldn't even notice it at all.

These offsets will work too (I like the black ones).

I'm probably WAY in the minority on liking those though

I think I'm going to get in on this GB over at the corvette forums. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-p...-z06-pics.html

I'm wanting to do 4 of the 19x10's (will have to narrow the fronts 1 inch). These are +40mm offset. Matte black centers with gloss black PC'd lip (maybe even a red pinstripe on the lip). Looks like the lip is like 2" all around on these.

What do you guys think?

If that's what it ends up being, so be it. I don't want the same 3 sets of wheels I see on every V out there. To do that, I either need to spend 4K on custom ones or 1800 for a Corvette setup. Still trying to decide though.

I feel like I'm on trial here.

Well I guess lucky for me, I don't need everyone or anyone to approve or even understand. I'm just posting my results/thoughts on doing it. Hopefully it will benefit someone in the future thinking of doing the swap. I think the project at first started off as a cost savings, which It still may end up being that way. As this evolves, I'm still unsure what path I'm taking and asking for opinions on wheels, not whether or not this lines up with peoples morals and "makes sense" to them or not.

I like the idea of goin to a 5 lug if for nothing else trips to the track....the other night I ran mine and have buddies with vette's and they were switching to slicks with about 3 extra sets....asked if I were running on my street tires and i had to say "your wheels won't fit my 6 lug freak"....I guarantee that I get as many comments on having 6 lug wheels as anything else....and most are like WTF? why?

Would you be interested in C6 wheels ?

The fronts are 18x8.5 and the rears are 19x10

Good price but no thanks. The only other 5 lug conversion that I'm aware of used these (in black). I'd like to do something a bit different.

It does work and I'm not the first to attempt this with the C5 hubs. I'm not sure if anyone has test fitted the rotors from a camaro or not. I have not gotten around to doing mine yet. Too busy lately with work. Hopefully it'll let up soon so I can get out there and test fit some parts.

I'm jumping in here. Love the idea for lots of reason: wheel options, brake rotor options, ability to borrow stuff last minute (like the slicks you mentioned), etc. Keep us posted.

I attempted to do the swap when I had my V. I got hubs from Oreillys for the fronts and used hubs for the rear. Then I orderd C6Z06 front rotors for all 4 corners. Just had to do a way with the parking break. I would have needed a atleast a 2" spacer for the rear and a 1"-1.5" for the front if I remember correctly but I ordered the wrong ones so I said FUQ the whole idea. lol!!!

I ended up liking the teamdynamic racing wheels better.

Not following what your saying 100%. What did you order that was wrong, the rotors, the wheels? What was the spacer gonna do, push the wheels out?
