Default Best Catch Can??

Looking into installing a catch can on my car (see mods in signature)

considering the following:
RX Performance LS1 Single Catch Can
Saikoumichi LS1 Dual Can

Which one would be best and why?
Any other opinions on different models which work better?

I use the car for autoxing, drag racing and hopefully some track days soon. And of course I DD it too!!!

thanks
tony

best is Rev Extreme.. I would also try a new style LS6 valley cover part # 12577927 to keep the oil in the motor.

No need for a catch-can when running the newer style LS-6 valley cover. I believe SDPC carries them for around $70 new. This is what I would do, plus it will clean up your engine bay a lot.

Hmmm. I have a 2005 CTS-V LS6, presumably with the newer style valley cover. I also have an Elite Engineering Oil Catch Can that accumulates a significant amount of oil/fluid - more than an once per 1K Miles. I do a lot of cold starts in a high humidity environment, which may be a factor.

The LS6 valley cover is not the end-all solution for ingesting oil into the intake. Like the CTS-V guy I also collect oil in my catch can probably 1/2 a tablespoon or so after a hundred miles with some WOT runs thrown in.

A catch can does indeed work well on an LS based engine. Keeps the intake and heads clean, reduces affect of oil mist on the air/fuel mixture. My experience has been the same as Darkman's.

I don't have any pics of it yet, but the fit and finish are great. It comes with a supplied bracket that I bolted pretty much just like this guy:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...catch-can.html

But you can really mount it anywhere you have room (later on in that thread someone else posted a pic of their mounted dual can under the car).

I have the saikou dual catch can on my LS1gto. Works great and collects oil.

Here are a few older pics of it on my car.

I also have Saikou Dual can. I suppose it may be more difficult to drain (since you basically have to pull it) but other than that it works awesome.

Each can has a sort of "drain plug" at the bottom. Unscrew it and gravity does the rest. Depending on where you install it, you may or may not need to pull it off the engine (still pretty simple and quick to do).
