Default L92 truck intake VS LS3 intake

Wondering if anyone has doing any testing on both of these. I have the truck intake on my car now and wonder how it really holds up.

Thanks ahead of time

Richard from WCCH did flow testing and it showed the L92 truck manifold really pinches off the flow of the heads above .400" lift. The L76/LS3 intake was significantly better from a flow standpoint, but I have not seen any back to back dyno comparisons (which would be much more worth while). Do a search for Richard from WCCH.

I did a comparison back to back on the chassis dyno within a hour of each other. The L92 truck intake outperformed the car LS3 intake by 10 rwhp 10 ftlbs across the board. The engine was a 6.0L w/ LPE L92/LS3 heads. The truck made between 430-440 rwhp and about the same in torque.

I can post the graph but it has non-sponsor info in it. If the moderators don't object I'll post away.

Good info, post away. Just goes to show you that flow numbers don't always tell the entire story.

Default Fast?

Any numbers for the truck version of the FAST intake vs. the car version? I would expect the truck version to have better torque characteristics than the car version.

I've seen these in the rag mags. I would love to see a back to back run vs stock L92 intake and 102Fast

I would too. It might be part of the answer for those of us who have heavy cars and the space to utilize the tall manifold.

Ive tested the LS3 (car) intake vs. the L92 (truck) intake on several setups, from stone stock to 500+hp. They have always been virtually the same.

One makes about 3-5lbft more on the bottom, then is down 3-5hp on top. (or vice versa)

FAST doesnt make a truck version of the L92, its a cathedral port only.

Simply pick the one that fits better with your accssories, or looks better.

Default L92 intake

I'm building an L92 VVT right now and I sent my stock intake to LS2 port works in WA state. He opened it up a LOT inside and eliminated the big barrel shaped noise silencer inside. The plenum volume is huge inside now and all the port entries were smoothed as well. Haven't started reassembly yet and i'll be sending the heads to TSP for portwork and running one of their VVT cams.

I have no numbers yet, but I can say the intake looks promising. Intake and TB were sent to him. I can say he's got some cool builds there and the cost was totally reasonable.

He had pics on the site that show what's done, don't know if it's still there.
