I think I could squeeze another 5K out of them, but for the first 10K of their life, they were at 30#. I then realized the error of my ways and put them at 24-25#. That is essentially the same center wear pattern for the last 5K.

If it weren't for the highways around here holding water, and that I got some 18's for a steal, I would probably try to get 20K out of them.

30K is damn good. I saw that pop up in another thread, congrats.

Well, I think I may be putting them back on the car

Around here it is dry 4 out of 5 days, maybe even more like 9 out of 10, or somewhere in between. The wheels I put on the back are 18 x 9.5 Chrome C5Z with BFG KDW's, pictured right beneath those tires. Those KDW's are extremely dangerous on the dry pavement. The slightest blip of the throttle and it throws the *** end way out. That ultra hard compound may be good for gas mileage and tread-life, but that puts me in way more danger than the Nitto's in the wet. In those circumstances, I can just drive slower, but with these KDW's I can't drive aggressive at all!

So, I may be selling (6) 18 x 9.5 chrome C5Z wheels and (4) 275/35/18 KDW's due to the fact that the 555r's for 17's are around $150 a tire and for 18's are $235, so I don't know what I will do, but I am pretty positive after driving with these KDW's for a few days, I need a drag radial to keep 475 lb-ft under control on the street.

My nitto 555r's held up great, especially considering what i put them through, their not a bad tire. Just not a good enough street slick in my opinion. Mickys FTW!

I have about 12K on mine but I also ran them overinflated at 30 psi for a bit. So the center is wore out. If I had run the proper pressure i could definitely imagine 20K+ out of them.

These are some great mileage numbers on drag radials. In everyone's experience, do they have alot dry pavement use left beyond the wear bars?

I've got about 11k on mine and have about 40% left. They hold up really good being that I've been tboned in my rear tire causeing a chunk to be missing along with the other side hitting a curb at the same time and same size chunk. I haven't had a problem yet. Just make sure your alignment is good because they wear down fast if they arent

I run mine between 24-26#. I put mine back on looking at people's usage. So I should see 20K out of these before it's all said and done.

Update! I ended up putting my 555r's back on and got a total of 17,731 miles from these. Just had the front and rear tires replaced. That's no 30K as some have gotten, but I may fair better knowing now to keep the pressure lower (26-27#).

Here are the pictures I took last night. I asked discount to let me keep the old ones as a kind of trophy, haha. Also, I like the front BFG Sports alot better compared to the BFG Super Sports, they have a more squared-off shoulder and it looks as if they fit the 9" wheel better. They're cheaper too.

These are the new BFG Sports

Vs. the BFG Super Sports - both a 275/40/17 on a 17" x 9" wheel. This is only picture I have saved on my work computer.

Another year, almost to the date, another 16,712 miles, and another set of Nitto's is gone.

And then they broke one of my wheel studs because they cross-threaded it a year ago

It's not how many miles, it's how many Burnouts.
