I e-mailed Grant a few months ago about airbag-equipped wheels for F-bodies. They said they have no plans to offer these steering wheels at all.

I'd love to see the C6 steering wheel in a 4th gen, I'm not holding my breath though. Honestly I don't think the F-body steering wheel (at least the one on my '02) is all that bad. Yes it's dated, but so's the rest of the interior...

The C6 wheel isn't all that special. It's the same as the one in the Malibu and a lot of other new GM cars.

I really like that wheel in the summit link, hate the logo in the center but if you could swap it out for a slp or ss logo I'm all over it,does that wheel fit our cars,I'm gonna change mine soon ,I don't really care about keeping the airbag, honest I would feel safer with out it in there lol,if any one has info about that wheel hit me up,I'm gonna also call summit today about it,

i think the 2001-2002 fbodys steering wheel flows better with the interior.

^^^ That's not the same steering wheel in the Corvette. That's a Holden-designed wheel.

The F-body steering column uses the older school larger standard size upper shaft . All the newer GM wheels use the smaller metric shaft, and holden uses its own size all together .

I can tell you , that all you would need to do to use the grant wheel in that link you posted, is to swap the smaller metric upper steering shaft from a late model W body , 01-03 or 04-08 Grand Prix or 06-current Impala . The grant wheel in the link you posted goes in the current Impala/DTS/Lucerne along with all the trucks and mid-size SUV's . I have done this swap with my old trans am to uses a thicker rimmed 01-03 grand prix wheel . The upper shaft I used was from a 2005 w-body grand prix column. The threads to attach the wheel are smaller, but the lower portion of the shaft that mounts to the column is the exact same as the F-body shaft. It is a tedious bitch of a swap, the dissassemby and re-assembly is a nightmare . But it does work .

The airbag was NON functional and I unbolted the inflator from the back of it so it could never go off . I never have and dont advise trying to make a airbag from another car work, because theres no way to test it .

While I have not tried it, it is entirely possible the 06-current 3 spoke wheel everyone wants to run so bad will bolt right up to the W-body shaft in the years I listed . GM does not change these sizes very often .

I personally think the trans am's factory steering wheel goes great with the interior. That's just me though

I really like the looks of that grant wheel. I personally do NOT trust airbags, with the amount of force they explode with it just needs to be off by one millisecond and it's night night time. Anyone see that YouTube video of the The guy sits on it one and it explodes, I don't like the thought of that going at my face. Unfortunatly California requires one.

Ya know I do to , same with the 00-02 Camaro wheel . I just wish the rims were thicker and they werent the size of a semi steering wheel . GM has always made all their wheels way to friggen big.
