Default BMW 840ci with LS Engine

I figured this would be the best site to ask everyone for input about getting this project up and running.

So the car a 1994 BMW 840ci with 95k been in the family since 1999

Looking to drop an LS motor in it

I'm guessing a wreaked F body with LS engine with auto or manual trans would be the best setup.

Anyone know who does swaps like this please let me know,
Or where to get info on getting the engine trans motor mounts exhaust done etc

Thanks Guys

If I remember right, the oil pan on the V8 in the 840 is a front sump to clear the steering. There's alot of room in that engine bay for the engine to move around some but the crossmember and steering linkage are going to be a hurdle.

If you're wondering who makes mounts and kits I beleive the answer is....nobody, it'd be a custom job. pretty much any custom shop/fabricator can do it all it takes is money. personally I think I'd go lq9 or ls2 before I'd go with an f-body ls1...the BMW 8 series is crazy heavy (2 tons) and going to take alot of motor to make it a worthwhile swap IMO. that being said, I fully understand why you want to do the swap, I even researched a swap for an 840 before I began my current project but seeing as I have shallow pockets and little free time I figured it was over my head I gave up on the idea. good luck hopefully I'm wrong and there is someone out there that can help.

Couldn't see why it would be any more difficult than any other swap. Same issues to deal w/; clearance. Considering all, it shouldn't be much of an issue considering there's already a DOHC V8 in there.

I'm assuming you did some searching already, but the link listed below was the first to come to mind when I saw this thread.

the steering box is the other obsticle to look out for, as 8 series doesnt use a steering rack
