Default TSP Headers

What are the guys with TSP headers running for a y-pipe? I bought their y-pipe also and the only thing that one is good for is a paperweight. I've bent Ive trimmed and simply just is not going to fit right. I'm just going to cut my losses and buy a new one. I have a magnaflow catback that I used to run with pacesetter headers and ORY. Maybe I should have just kept that setup as it fit perfect. So what do you have that will work? Thanks

Buy a Flowmaster Merge and take it to the exhaust shop.

Any decent place will be able to make you a ypipe with pre bent mandrel tubing for under $150.

after i install my pacesetters, i'm taking it to the exhaust shop and letting them deal with the y pipe hassle. like all ready stated, buy yourself a flowmaster merge (on eBay all day for $30-$50) and have them bend some pipe to run into the merge. it might be cheaper to go that route as well since my original quote was $80 to run piping into my merge. lets see if the guy keeps his word. also since he is going to bend the pipes i'm going to watch and make sure it tucks up correctly etc. etc.

^ This. Stick with the pros when it comes to exhaust.

or you could buy another y-pipe that wont fit your can and just junk that one too, it sounds like a tread for the LS1 y-pipe..buy it to complain about it then use it as a paper weight!!!..lol

Maybe a hack could do it for that price. Your not going to get a mandrel y pipe made for that unless you got a hook up.

i swear that TSP y-pipe is garbage, im surprised TSP hasn't done anything about it yet, its seems like over 50% of people who buy the TSP y-pipe have problems installing it.
Here is a poll i did on the y-pipe, https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...me-vote-2.html its pretty crazy that so many people can't get the damn thing to fit right.

When I first got TSP headers I ran them into a 4" flowmaster merge then to a 4" cutout back to a 3" catback. It's hard to find someone to do good work but a shop that's local to me has a mandrel bender and he only charged me 225. Find a shop that will take their time and use mandrel bends even if you need to supply them. In the end, don't put yourself in the same situation with another crappy Y-pipe and have it done right.

A y-pipe is so underestimated, it's a very important peice that shouldn't alway's have to get hacked up and re-welded....Texas and pacesetters y is cheap as ****....That's why other y's run 3-500$ cause the merge is already done for you and it fit's the way it's supposed to.. With enough reserch anyone should know by now if your gonna customize your y, than get a cheap one...If you don't.. buy the bigger/better brands...

I just delt with the TSP headers/ORY/Magnaflow install over the weekend. It would be darn near impossible to install properly with the supplied clamps, but I bought much better quality band clamps (the lap type) from summit before hand which allowed a lot more wiggle room getting stuff to fit and seal up properly.

As it is, the merge moved back a couple/few inches which has pushed the I-pipe and over the axle pipe the same amount. My I-pipe still has to be trimmed a bit to make everything after the merge fit properly. Once thats done, everything should fit damn good.

So if you run the TSP Y, get good band clamps to go with it, 3 of them will complete the Y itself, one more if you want to use one at the Y/I pipe connection.
