Underhood automotive light bar Recently I was in Race Proven Motorsports shop and noticed that they had a bunch of these new style lights. The are about the width of your hood and hook on to each end and are adjustable from 40"-70". I typically see them for around $90 which seems a little high. Anybody know where to find them cheaper? Here is a pic.

They sell them with a plastic cover on them? The one pictured is just in a casing? You have to use common sense. They sell them at Ghetto Wal-mart for $9 and its 24" long ready to use and the bulb is covered in a case. I have one exactly like that although red in color made by Neiko, bought it a couple of years ago, don't think I paid over $100 but after looking around that $90 price is cheap, might grab one, even on ebay, these work good but I would not pay over $100 for one, IMHO.

I recently purchased a magnetic cordless LED worklight off ebay. I am impressed with its performance, and I paid under $30 for it. I think it is a "Cobra" brand. At the same time, I bought a Cobra brand small folding magnetic cordless worklight for $5, again ebay, and I use it all over the place.

Man I would say go ahead and shell out the money for one. Its one of the best shop tools you'll ever buy. It's also great to clip to the roof when doing interior work and also great to clip under the car when working underneath it.
The fluorescent ones are better imo because the light is cleaner and less blinding/glare than led.
I bought one a few years ago, I think its called a Sabre light. Its red. I liked it so well that I bought my dad one and a few friends. I think I actually paid a little more than 100.00 but like I said, definately worth it.
