Default My homeade backlit radio delete panel with Trans Am logo progress pics

Havent worked on the car much lately. Almost done with the radio delete panel, I like how its turning out. I had a guy make me a mirrored TRANS AM logo so I could stick it on the back, paint around it, and peel off the decal so it looks right from the front. Im using plexiglass and it looks a whole lot better if you can paint it from the back. That way it looks like a mirror finish on the front even though I used cheap flat black paint. Nice little trick. I just ordered some red transparent taillight film that I will stick on the back to make it glow red (the cars painted red) and to also make it stay red when the lights are off. I have it wired to the dimmer switch so I can adjust brightness. I might have to go with a small light bar instead of this LED strip unless the red film will diffuse the light more evenly. Hopefully, it will look alot better. Anywayz, heres a few pics.

must look like a someones watching tv in that thing at night hahaha.

Honestly that is a nice touch, i like it, for people without a radio that is a great tasteful mod rather then the black radio delete panel.

Yeah thats why I have it on the dimmer. I think when I apply the red taillight film that will tone it down also and HOPEFULLY help dustribute the light more evenly.

Looks good. You might be able to do a VERY LIGHT layer of night shade once you have the red down. Should defuse the light more, just don't make it too dark.

Any update on this? (lol) I was interested in it. I dont care if its the wrong section, just wondering if you have any more pics since the red film? Also wondering how easy it would be to mount a AFR gauge there as opposed to the a pillar, could also be a great spot to put a nitrous gauge.

What lighting did you use and how did you power it?

Looks good. I think a layer of tint on the outside would look good. Make it look like a blank panel until your lights are on.
