Best way to get hard water spots off of car paint? Sprinkler apparently hit the back of my car last week, car then baked in the Texas sun over the weekend. Obvious fail and hard water spots all over the car and didn't come out with spray detailer.
What's the best way to get these off? Doesn't seem like waxing would do any good either

you will need to do both of the above....the clay may help but i doubt (without seeing pictures) it will completely remove them so you will need to probably get them buffed out with a good buffer like a PC Flex or rotary (experienced person only) and some polishes....wax doesnt contain any type of abrasive so it cant fix any damage on your paint...it is only good for protecting your paint

You will need an acid to get them off, I've used white vinegar and it works really well. Apply the vinegar to the car, let it sit for 5 minutes, and then rinse. You will need to wash and re wax when you are done unless you like the smell of pickles.

I've had hard water spots on my roof for 2 years now. I have clay bared, buffed, and waxed without sucess. I was told to use acid by a limo detailer. He had a special way of doing it but I forgot.

before i sold my GXP i had some water spots on my spoiler from it living in florida for a few months...wet sanding was the only way to get rid of them which i never did....hot surface = no good lol

Clay, then Menzerna Micro Polish on an orange buffing pad with my CP 7424XP. This removes the lightest amount of clear possible while eliminating the water spots. I've yet to find the water spot I can't correct out with that combo. Finish with a quality polish and keep up with it every six weeks to prevent future water marks from becoming a problem.
